Albany International Airport is located in Colonie, New York, about 7 miles northwest of central Albany. The airport is easy to reach on Capital District Transit Authority and Trailways buses. You may also choose to take a taxi to the airport. If you drive, parking is available starting at $5 a day. The airport offers a range of dining options if you need to grab a quick meal before your trip, including Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts for coffee and Green Leaf's for sandwiches and salads.
More than eight million people call the East Coast city of New York home. New York City is served by three main airports, LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy in Queens and Newark Liberty in nearby Newark, New Jersey. Each airport is accessible by public transportation, and taxis outside the terminals are ready to take you directly to your destination. You can expect to spend around an hour traveling from any airport to downtown Manhattan. The weather in New York features four distinct seasons. Snowfall is not unusual in winter, and average highs in the summer are around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Spring and fall are among the best times to visit, as temperatures are mild. While in New York, ride the elevator to the observation deck at the Empire State Building for a stunning view of the city, or take in dinner and a Broadway show in Times Square.
