There are around 50 flights a week from Toronto Pearson International to Orlando International, two of the largest airports in North America.
Toronto is the busiest hub in Canada and handles almost 50 million passengers a year. Meanwhile, Orlando is the biggest airport in Miami, with 45 million customers each year. After passing over Pittsburgh you fly over the Appalachian Mountains and down to Miami. If you want a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean sit on the left of the plane, but for views towards the prairies and Old West grab a seat on the right.
The flight with Porter Airlines from Billy Bishop Airport to Melbourne is on board a Bombardier turboprop plane and takes around 30 minutes longer.
The flight from Toronto to Orlando is international, so you will need to remember your passport. You should also check in at the airport two hours before your flight is due to depart. Toronto Pearson has lots of shops, bars and restaurants to relax in before you take off, and you can also buy duty free goods.
Pearson International is around approximately 14 miles from the downtown area of Toronto, there are trains, buses and lots of parking options available. Billy Bishop airport is located on Toronto Island on Lake Ontario.
When you arrive in Orlando International, 12 miles from downtown, there are several ways to get to the city center. There are buses, taxis, and shuttles and rental cars available and with Orbitz you can reserve your rental car when you buy your airline ticket.
Before the 1960s Orlando was a relatively small resort town, but the expansion of the airport and the opening of Disney World in 1971 transformed the city and surrounding area into a tourist hotspot, and it now has more theme parks and attractions than any other city in the world.
