Entertainment options only for additional charge- would have preferred at least one or two in-flight movies included. Also expected one real meal on a 6-hour flight but had only snacks, subs and a cheese/fruit platter, and also at additional cost. Only coffee, juices and soft drinks were served at no additional cost, one meal would have been welcome.
The only thing is that I had 2 bags and was charged more for my bag going back to Hawaii than I was going to Illinois the week before. I was charged $150 for my second bag but only $40 on the way to Illinois. I'm not sure why there was such a discrepancy but you need to standardize all your baggage check-in sites so that this doesn't happen again.
Didn’t get seats with my husband-I was placed in between a family with kids and my husband was put in s riww Behrind me
The seats were very uncomfortable
Staff made best of wrong food on plane.
Only problem was seat entertainment did not work for my granddaughter - stuck on Italian and Korean - they couldn't fix it so a long 6 hour flight
My husband and I had assigned seats separated from each other and the woman at the gate was able to change our seats so we could sit together on our long flight to Hawaii.
Air vents did not work on first flight.
While Seattle is home to several airports, the only one that handles commercial flights is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Also known as Sea-Tac, this airport is responsible for all incoming flights, along with flights from Seattle. Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and US Airways are a few airlines that operate out of this airport. Located in SeaTac, Washington, the airport sits along the intersection of three state routes: 99, 518, and 509. Though the airport has three terminals, only the Concourse Terminal and North Satellite Terminal handle domestic flights. The South Satellite Terminal specializes in international flights. It's just a short drive from the airport to downtown.
When you need to reach your hotel quickly, head for the public transportation system, which consists of Sound Transit and Metro Transit. The buses and light rails only cost a few dollars, and you can visit the sales counter at any station to purchase tickets for your trip. The light rail system drops passengers directly at some of the top hotels in the downtown area. Seattle uses a grid system for its roads, which makes finding your hotel easy if you drive. You can use the Orbitz.com sign to look for rental cars from the airport.
If you visit during the spring, winter, or fall, you need a warm coat and an umbrella. Though the city does not get snow, it does get a high amount of rain during these seasons, and temperatures that can drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The summer is much warmer, with temperatures in the high 70s and less rainfall.
Seattle is home to dozens of cultural activities and attractions, including the Seattle International Film Festival, the Henry Art Galley, the Woodland Park Zoo, and the Seattle Underground Tour, which takes you through older parts of the city. When you look for flights from Seattle on Orbitz.com, take a few minutes to look for other low-cost attractions in the city.
Kona is the westernmost district on the Big Island of Hawaii and the shortened name for the city of Kailua-Kona. The Kona International Airport at Keahole located at 73-200 Kupipi St. services residents and visitors of the city looking for cheap flights to Kona. Airlines operating out of Kona include Air Canada, Delta Airlines, American Airlines and US Airways, among others. The airport is about seven miles from Kailua and still maintains an open-air design that takes full advantage of the beautiful Hawaii weather.
Travel to Kailua-Kona from the Kona International Airport is provided primarily by taxi or rental car, with shuttle services available to resorts in the area and limited bus services through the Hawaii County Mass Transit Agency for $1.00. Round-trip shuttle services are available for about $48, with trips taking approximately 15 minutes, and taxis are about $25 one way to the downtown area.
The weather in Kona is tropical with warm temperatures lasting throughout the year. The average low in the coldest month of January only reaches 66 degrees Fahrenheit, with average highs in the warmest month of August only reaching 88 degrees. Rainfall is light and brief, so dress can be as lightweight as desired while in the region.
Kona is a tourist's paradise with beautiful beaches to relax in as you enjoy warm ocean breezes and beautiful sunsets. For those who want a more challenging time in Kona though, there's always the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in October. To race in the work championship, you'll first have to qualify through one of the many qualification races held around the world. Watching the race is free though, and it is often worth the price of one of the cheap flights to Kona available through Orbitz.com.
