Fly from Portland International to Burbank to tour Hollywood movie studios where famous motion pictures and television shows are created. The flight from Portland International Airport (PDX) to Burbank is a short nonstop flight of only two hours. While at the airport, travelers may wish to take advantage of the lack of sales tax found in Oregon. There is a convenient shopping mall located just behind the airport ticket counters, with cafes and stores that offer tax-free shopping.
Burbank and adjacent Universal City have been home to the motion picture industry since the early days of filmmaking in California. Both studios offer guided tours that include free tickets to be in the audience for one of their television shows. Fly from Portland International to Burbank to see the Warner Bros. Studios Museum that houses costumes, props and changing displays. Universal Studios Hollywood also features a full amusement park and CityWalk retail complex.
Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank is an alternative airport to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Travelers are closer to attractions in the San Fernando Valley, with further travel possible via rental car, shared vans, taxi or public transportation. An LA Metro station is conveniently located across the street from Universal Studios with inexpensive travel to downtown Hollywood available, which is just five minutes away.
