There are plenty of reasons why people might want to catch a flight to Lihue Airport (LIH) and visit Kauai. This incredibly beautiful island has a good deal to offer including a number of annual events such as the Kauai Polynesian Festival, that takes place during Memorial Weekend in late May every year.
The festival features live performances, food events, craft sales and dance competitions, and also leaves visitors educated, regarding the Polynesian way of life and the general culture of the island.
At the start of October each year is the annual Coconut Festival, which celebrates the humble coconut with coconut pie eating competitions, a coconut milk bar, as well as coconut cooking demonstrations.
Flights to Lihue Airport (LIH) will take visitors to the southeast coast of Kauai, just two miles east to the center. It is the main gateway to the island and comes with a number of different car rental facilities. The airport is also connected to downtown Lihue, via the Kauai Bus route 70.
Lihue has a number of quiet bars that provide a relaxed environment for a quiet night out including the Tradewinds Bar, situated in the Coconut Marketplace, and Rob's Good Times Grill.
Checking in to flight home from Lihue was a bit time-consuming and chaotic. We had to remind ourselves this is a regional airport, not LAX. Other than that, experience was pleasant, and we were happy to fly 'the only airlines that still serves complimentary food and beverages'.
Tiffany, who walked with us to another area at the airport so we’d have peace of mind that our luggage was placed in the right place when we left Kaua’i to fly back to San Diego. She went the extra mile and was super nice!!
More leg room.
I did NOT receive an email from aa regarding 'time to check in. Other airlines do This
Pilot kept us informed
It's almost embarrassing to fly without having all your upgraded seat options filled. This flight very few Main seats were taken. You should offer free or minimal dollar upgrades to fill those vacancies and create an even happier customer base instead of having 3 people in a row smashed in the back of the plane, especially flights like this which are 5 hours or more long.
I am on the tall side and the seats in the back of the plane never have enough room.
Flight was pretty smooth! No complaints!
Such a helpful staff at LAX. Made our trip so much better with there kindness.
Free checked bag would be nice.
All was fine. I’d give it a big OK. Flight had many empty seats, but crew was very hesitant to let folks spread out for comfort.
