I stayed for 6 days on vacation. The location is the best in Windsor being just steps from the Thames and a 5 min walk to the castle and a 2 min walk from the National Rail. The building is super old but is was clean and everything worked well. The breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts I’ve had in Europe. The staff was friendly. I had a very good experience.

This is the only way to stay near Heathrow and yet only a 30min express train to Paddington.

The check in was great. Down hill from there. We had dinner in the Brasserie. The service was beyond bad. First, we couldn’t get anyone to come over to take our drink order. The food order was messed up. The bright sun glare off the Thames was a problem for three tables and I had to stand up and begin adjusting the drapes before anyone came over. The room was hot and we couldn’t get the AC on. The response from our call was, “ee’ll Try to fix it. Call us in five minutes if it doesn’t come on. There was zero follow up to see it it actually did. We got the windows open finally. Trrrible experience. Never again.

We were told to wait in the lobby for just a few minutes. We waited for a half an hour. We went to the hotel bar to order drinks, food and watch soccer. It took several waiters coming to our table, going to the bar twice and waiting even longer before we just received water. Our food and drinks finally came. We were really excited to walk around Windsor but after waiting for our tab for another hour and checking in to our room, the castle was closed. When we returned to our room, I noticed lipstick and liquid stains on the carpet along with bread crumbs. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed and was disgusting. I put towels over the stains and crumbs. I was asked prior to getting the room if I had any special requests. I replied that I would like a nice room with a view. Our room had a view of a small parking lot and we had the only room in the darn hotel without ac. We had stayed at their sister hotel, The Rembrandt, prior and it was amazing. This hotel Was horrible. I don’t generally complain unless it is truly warranted. This is the only hotel out of the seven we stayed at while in Europe, that truly made me feel that I was mistreated for not having a man in my Party. As a single mother traveling with her daughter, this hotel was terrible.

Our return visit was wonderful. Great staff and rooms. A well run quintessential British hotel.

Great location, just few minutes walk to the Castle and shopping area. fantastic view of the river in the restaurant and very nice ambient there.

After walking past the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel for a few years, I finally had the opportunity to actually stay there as a guest. My expectations were well exceeded. The staff could not have been more accommodating. They were friendly and professional. My room overlooked the main entrance of the hotel from across the street. The people-watching was fantastic. The three huge windows allowed sunlight to stream into the room. The room was large, stately and comfortable. The bath area was big and bright as well. I look forward to staying at the Sir Christoper Wren Hotel for a longer, leisurely, vacation stay next time.

Nice hotel romantic. The river side is part of the dinning experience

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa. I am saddened to read that parts of your stay did not meet your expectations. I have passed your feedback on your experience in the Brasserie to our Assistant Brasserie Manager, and I have spoken to our Front of House Manager about the apparent breakdown of communication following your issue with the air conditioning. We pride ourselves on the service we deliver here at the Sir Christopher Wren and want all our guests to leave feeling happy with their stay. I hope that in the future you will choose to stay with us again and allow us to provide you with the service that we pride ourselves on delivering, which on this occasion does not seem to have been the case. Sincerely, James Goddard Guest Relations
