Clean, friendly staff and convenient restaurant with great food.

Came to DC for a concert and needed to find a Hotel close to my music venue. The hotel is older but charming. My king room was large, very clean and the best was so so comfortable. The location in incredible! Normally I don’t stay at hotels this dated anymore but this hotels positives outweighed any negatives. Would book again.

Old and showing its wear, but terrific downtown location with low price that more than compensates for any lack of modern amenities.

The place needs updating! Very old! Worn carpet, bathroom is not accommodating. Just really disappointed.

Definitely great location for this place- it was surrounded by restaurants- And you will have plenty to do within walking distance. The metro center is a couple of blocks away where you can go anywhere else. Unfortunately, I give it 3.5 stars because of the AC. I don’t understand why I could hear it blowing but felt no cool air coming out.- besides that I could’ve rated it much higher especially because of the location.

I like the place. It is one of the first family hotel in DC, so of course the facility are old. But the price and walkable distance to everywhere are good enough to compete with other defect. Recommend the place.

Restaurant in the 1st floor has to improve service and the quality of food. Employees are excellent!!!

Very convenient for all the major attractions

Ac not cool enough but overall is good

This was easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The shower head was covered in grime and the water didn't drain well at all. The bathroom door didn't even close all of the way without extreme force. The blankets on the beds were itchy and thin. The room was freezing and we couldn't adjust the temperature. The hotel as a whole had an unpleasant smell, but the elevators more than anywhere else had us plugging our noses. The people at the front desk were rude, curt, and overall unfriendly. The only, and I do mean ONLY, nice thing about this hotel was its centralized location. This hotel needs to make some serious improvements.

Clean only issue you can’t control temperature in side the room

It was literally near everything. Walking distance on any attractions or very accessible to commute/transportation. They have washer/dryer in the building which helps coz some airlines doesn't really allow full carry ons anymore. Washer/Dryer is $2.00 total.

Dated but cheap and the basics. Excellent location.

Vintage hotel was unique. Restaurant downstairs open late with good food. Hotel staff and people are very pleasant and helpful.

Did my research of the hotel prior to visit so I knew what to expect. It’s an historic hotel with no updates. If you are looking for luxury this is not the hotel for you. We were out of our family deluxe room more than than we were in our room. So it served its purpose for our trip. I loved the location we were able to do a lot plus much more. The restaurants/bar and gift shops attached to hotel were also open for business. Front desk clerk she was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint. Hotel was cold as hell.

My room had one light working. No air conditioning. The lobby smells like cigarrettes. I was supposed to stay 2 days and checked out after the first night. Definitely not coming back.

We asked for a hair dryer, it was delivered promptly.

I loved the architecture and the look and feel of being back in 60s/ 70s, its not modern at all so isnt for everyone

Nice rooms to stay in the heart of downtown. Everything was close including the White House

11th Street NW Washington DC
