My wife booked a stay at a local hotel for me because I've been working from home full time and doing homeschool with my kids for nearly a year (she thought I needed a night of silence and a chance to read a good book). When showed up everything felt so odd. gave the man at the desk my name and he acted like was an idiot for telling him my name and I told him that my wife had booked me a room (she did so on orbitz). He had no idea of my reservation, which was prepaid. literally had to hand him my phone under their plexiglass screen to prove to him I'd paid and a room had been booked. Finally at this point he took my reservation seriously. He called in another woman who asked if wanted a queen room. said yes, they sounded like they found it.but then for the next 15 minutes they just bickered at each other in another language while never once acknowledging me as a customer. America is a beautiful place and love and celebrate our diversity, but in 15 minutes the only acknowledgement I received was a confrontational attitude that made me feel like an idiot in telling him booked a room and the woman half way through asking me if wanted a room. I excused myself and I drove off after my wife had paid for a room the night before. The longest and oddest check-in ever and never got a key.

didn't like that they tried to over charge us.i had to show my e-mail confirmation to get the right price !!

Spent one night here during Christmas when visiting Columbia Gorge and Hood River. Ok for one night, somewhat clean, friendly staff, central location. Close to local state parks and wineries. Next time probably stay in Hood River, much better location and close to more restaurants.

Seemed like recent upgrading on complete room, new TV and appliances, carpet, nice step in tile shower. Worse was coffee, a bit noisy but town is on major rail line so Frieght travels of and on all night. But to be fair this is for any lodging in this area.

The only "nice" thing about the hotel room was the remodeled shower. The rest was tired and very unkempt. The dresser was missing one of the drawers. The door was all scratched at the bottom, like a big dog spent a few hours trying to escape. The 1960s carpet sagged over loose floor boards in several places. The t.v. didn't work without turning on a certain lightswitch. The bed, which was supposed to be a king, was not a king, and was covered with a flimsy comforter. The air conditioner, witch cycled every 5 minutes, was very loud, and it was the kind of place that attracted unrespectful guests who loudly banged on the doors of other rooms at all hours of the night or talked outside. That being said, the owners were very kind.

Really nothing to recommend here. Expensive for what it is. More like a basic dorm room. Noisy with no elevator and steep stairs.

The room was clean, the shower was small but very pretty and the bed was comfortable. The a/c was loud but luckily it wasn't very hot. And it was really nice to have a refrigerator.

At check in the staff told of us of a neighborhood park three blocks away. He also showed us on a map the Sorosis Park that has a wonderful play structure and vistas of the river. The room contained a mural of a palm tree, surf and sand. We were thrilled. The drawback was the fridge was warm and smelled of my husband's favorite cheese. The light traffic on the residential street could be heard through out the night. The neighboring room's HBO selections were clearly heard. With that said, we both slept well and were rested for our travels the next morning departing at 7:00 am after watching OPB kids TV programs. All in all I would definitely stay again to explore the historic downtown area when we would have more time available.
