The University Lodge was a great value for its price. Conveniently located . Short walk to town and campus. The room was very clean . Heating system worked well and water pressure in the shower was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Although the property is a bit dated , it seemed very clean and safe.

It was a budget property, very close to UMass and the town, and totally met my expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

old property restrooms can be better, staff is nice and i had a decent stay there

Not luxurious, but an inexpensive and practical stay that did the job. Rooms are old, but spacious and no particular problems. Very convenient for campus.

Very clean, had to disconnect the refrigerator because of loud noise. Hear noise from above late at night and someone taking a shower at all hours

It could have been better lit. The bathroom had ants one night, though not afterward. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The cleaning service was excellent. Office staff was friendly and efficient. Price was good as was location.

I liked the location. however, there were three things that were not up to par: (1) ant were all over my toothbrush in the morning, (2) the carpet wasa old and dingy, and (3) the floor in the room above squeaked as the inhabitants walked around their room.

The location is excellent. It is within walking distance of Amherst College and UMass-Amherst. Easy to walk to town for the restaurants.

Nice, clean bed. Had a little TV / connection issue but it was fixed. I window latch couldn't lock but it was 100% closed. Could use an upgrade on the Ice Machine

I stayed here because I was attending a conference at nearby UMass. It was convenient for the location and affordable, which is why I chose it. I wasn't expecting anything beyond a basic room, but I did expect it to be cleaner than it was. The tub hadn't been wiped out and it hadn't been dusted very well, which affected my allergies somewhat. There was also dust/mold on the ceiling from the A/C unit.

We were looking for place to stay close to UMass. The University Lodge is less than a mile away from the center of campus. It is also a quarter of a mile from downtown Amherst with its restaurants and shops. As far as I can tell, it is the closest independent lodging to U Mass there is. It is a basic motel, with small but clean rooms. There is no complementary breakfast, but there are many options a short walk away.

room was clean and very decent in contrast to some reviews

DO NOT STAY AT THE UNIVERSITY LODGE! Arrived at 9 p.m. on a Friday night with a confirmed, prepaid reservation. The place was dark, spooky. Icy parking lot. NO STAFF still working. NONE. ZERO. Instructions on the door said to call a Howard Johnson's for information about how to get a reserved room at University Lodge. Very scary place. No way someone should spend the night there alone. Luckily, the Howard Johnson's let me stay there instead for no extra charge.

There was a large bug in my bed and several bugs on the bathroom floor

Nice room- staff pleasant and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and location was quiet.

Just needed place to sleep. Cheap and close to campus. No ice available. Hotel is old and tired. Clean.

Nothing special about it an soundproofing from room above inadequate.
