Have stayed here many times and always nice people, nice rooms.

When I checked in during the middle of the day, the lobby doors were already locked for employee safety and they slid the keys to me through a hole in a side window. This should have been a sign to leave immediately... It got worse. I then found out my room was not even at the hotel and I had to go to an apartment complex across the street. The parking lot was covered with trash and multiple disheveled looking people were loitering around smoking. I was traveling with my disabled sister and we were not able to even park in the handicap spot because someone who apparently lives there put orange cones out to block it. Walking to the room, there was a dog barking furiously two doors down and the building smelled strongly of weed despite being advertised as non smoking. Shortly after attempting to settle in, a stream of nonstop people kept angrily pounding on the door next to us and leaving shortly after. Around the same, two homeless people In the parking lot started loudly arguing. As two women traveling alone, we did not feel safe staying any longer and checked out early. The employee I talked to downplayed the entire situation and claimed a manager would be contacting me the next day for a refund. No one ever contacted me. I have also followed up multiple times since then only to receive the runaround. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you'd like to have an enjoyable vacation.

Great place

Doorknobs and jambs sticky. Nightstand and lamp bases dusty and unclean. Window didn’t open (first floor). Staff at desk uninterested in truly helping. We asked what channel the Giants game was on & the response was oh idk but you can go across the street to watch. Then said would come to room and help us find. Never did.

This property should no be recomended for families.. this property is for stonners and animals.

Great every time we have stayed there.

Nice people. Nice property

We will return

Quick and easy check-in

Inexpensive compared with other accommodations. Probably undergoing renovation...

I think it's our fourth time here. There has been consistent cleanliness and it exceeds expectations in this price category.

It was the bottom line basic hotel. Thin walls, and the parking wasn’t easy.

It was closr to food. Parking was very convenient with some assigned right in front of your room. Beds eere were comfortable. Only issue was that it's a little hard to get into the parking lot. Watch for traffic.

A great option if you’re on a budget in Santa Cruz. Our room was in the Annex building which is across a busy street from the main building. It was pretty quiet but kinda weird being so far from the staff. Parking in the Annex building is also difficult if you have a larger vehicle. Staff was great, room was super clean, beds comfy. Bathroom had some old crummy areas and elevators were dirty. Overall it was a great deal and we would stay again.

While the building on the outside is attractive compared to its competition, the room itself was so-so. Not bad from an overall view, but once you have a closer look, it definitely could use some work. Overall the room seemed decently clean, however when I pulled the shower curtain back, I found a wad of hair sitting in the tub. My overall disappointed review comes from the terrible lack of insulation in the room— absolutely no noise cancelling ability. The sleep was terrible due to this. We heard people stomping above us until 3:30am, people shouting and getting in and out of cars to one side of us and people talking and walking back to their rooms on another side. The one plus, is staff seemed overall polite and helpful.

Staff was great very helpful rooms were very clean and liked hardwood floor

Rooms were clean, but, noisy. Walls are paper thin. I was charged an extra $25, cause I was early and they put me in a room that was already made up. That's just not right. I will think twice before staying there again

Dear Guest, thank you for choosing the Continental Inn. We are not quite sure what the problem was with your stay. If you had called the management and asked for help, something could have been done. We hope you give us another chance to change your opinion about the Continental Inn
