I think there’s a bit of false advertisement here. First, there is no beach, it’s a man made hard sand beach “area,” there is a sea wall with a crap ton of god awful smelling sea grass. No one would want to swim in it. On each side of the property there’s empty buildings and trash. The resort doesn’t offer a free shuttle, it’s $30 usd, which you can get a regular taxi for, but the resort is very far from town. You need a golf cart to go about an hour to town, and you need the cart to go about 30 minutes to the only nice beach there called Secret Beach. You can book the cart online or ask locals, if you ask the hotel it cost a bit more. The staff were incredibly nice, especially the service staff, Wayne, Stuart, and the security Alesaio (I’m sure I butchered the spelling). They interacted with us, they were genuine and kept it extremely professional, great staff! The property was clean and very cute. I loved sitting out on the large porch, that was a bonus. I would recommend getting a room on the second floor if possible, the people above mine weren’t purposely loud, but I could here every step, making for long sleepless nights. The pool was also very nice, you can have meals at the swim-up bar which made for a fun expeircje

Extremely personable service. We were not expecting Walter to pick us up at the airport. Such a pleasant surprise. Our bartender, Wayne, was awesome

Loved the property itsekf, but did not live the drive to get there.

We had a wonderful stay at Costa Blu. They arranged our hopper flights from the mainland, helped us book excursions, and were overall so kind.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Property could use a makeover and maintenance.

Costa Blu was beautiful and so peaceful, the staff was amazing! However the food was mediocre so we went into San Pedro often.

Excellent facilities, but a bit far away from San Pedro Town with poorly maintained road. The restaurant serves average food at exorbitant prices, when compared to other Hilton or Marriott chain of hotel restaurants. Staff and their services are very good. Facilities are well maintained. Avoid renting golf carts from the hotel as they charge more than twice the local operators. Use the tour company onsite called Tuff e nuff. They are excellent and make sure the visitors have a wonderful time.

Nice hotel, staff, and restaurant. They take care of you from the time you step into Belize till you leave. The only problem is that the resort is way up North on the island, about a 40 minute golf cart drive, and the road looks like the surface of the moon with crater sized potholes.

Every employee was great!!! Had a great time. Hated to leave

Costa Blu is a beautiful hotel with a gorgeous waterfront pool & restaurant/bar. Rooms were large, clean and had everything we needed, except for luggage racks. Front porch had a great view, but you could hear the neighbors upstairs every time they walked, so ask for upper room if that will bother you. Restaurant/bar was a bit overpriced for what you got, which brings me to the location. Costa blu is 6.5 miles from town and will take about 40 min to get to town, depending on your golf cart speed and road conditions. It took us 40 min, which means you won't be popping out to town for tacos for lunch, it's a day commitment. There are some stores closer to the resort, but still 20+ min on the single sand/pothole road. Most restaurants on the island had similar pricing also. The other big thing is not the resort, but the island itself had 10-30ft of thick smelly seaweed in the water at the shore. Costa blu had a crew working all day to remove it, but you still couldn't swim bc it was perpetually coming in from the sea. Stay at the gorgeous pool or at Secret Beach if you want to swim. If you go, look carefully at the golf cart you rent, as ours was so slow, we couldn't outrun flies or mosquitoes. Cheaper is not always better. We didn't rent the cart from Costa blu, but they did have a fleet available at the resort. We did a fabulous snorkeling excursion from the resort dock which was super easy, and totally worth it! Front desk was super helpful also.

Great overall. Food at restaurant could be better.

Great staff and everyone was so helpful! We will be back for sure. Stewart was awesome!

This place was as beautiful as the pictures, the rooms all had a view of the water, the hotel pool was fantastic and the swim up bar was warm and a great place to hang. The drinks were great, the hotel staff friendly and professional, and the pool bartenders were fun and also helpful with insight into things to do on the island. It is farther out of town than some other hotels, but with the water taxi and a golf cart, that didn't make too much of a difference (you need a golf cart if you want to stay out later than 10 pm!). However, the golf cart was fun and needed to get to the secret beach anyhow. Also, this was perfect for couples in their 30's+ as everyone was fun and out for adventure and a good time, but it was not a party hotel by any means either. You can easily find the party in San Pedro if that's what you're looking for while also having a quiet place to call home while you're away.

Transfer from airport to hotel was very well organised. Nice reception by hotel staff. Staff was very polite and helpfull. We had a wonderful holiday.

Food was awesome. We went to the nearby options and Costa Blu kitchen was the best for sure. They also fried up our catch of the day and it was awesome. It was quiet and fun. The room was great but try to get a second story room. We had a bottom floor and upstairs neighbors could be heard clearly. The patios and balconies are very nice. No reason to leave your room if you don't want to. Tours from the dive shop on site went great and seemed smaller groups for similar price to other tour operators. The only bummer was you cannot go into the marine preserve directly out from the pier. The boat highway and marine preserve prevent snorkeling or kayaking directly out from the resort. You have to paddle or swim (not advised due to high boat traffic) quite a bit north and south to access the open water.

Thanks for your review. Our resort is located 6.2 miles North of San Pedro Town. The road is paved to 3.5 miles North at Belizean Shores Resort. Golf carts are available for rent on site. There is also a public water taxi that makes scheduled daily runs along the coast of the island. This is a great option to avoid the golf cart drive. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay at our resort.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review with us. Our resort is located 6 miles north of San Pedro Town, the road north is paved until Mile 3.5 north. The road conditions are out of our control, unfortunately. Another option for traveling into San Pedro Town is to take the public water taxi, the Coastal Xpress, which makes scheduled daily runs up and down the coast of the island from 5:30am-10:30pm. Our tour partner, Tuff E Nuff Tours, has an excellent selection of both marine and mainland excursions, and their team of tour guides are some of the best. Thanks again for your review.
