I know they are under staffed, because of the times. I get that, but the place needs a lot of TLC. The owners need to pump a lot of money into it and bring it back to what it was.

Dont waste your time or money. I never even arrived at this location. We were traveling with kids on a road trip and wouldn't make it there before check in ended at 8. I called hotel and was told i would receive a refund. Then was told to contact Orbitz. Orbitz wouldn't do anything. I highly suggest 1) go thru a different booking company. This one is extremely sneaky and customer service is pointless. 2) stay far far FAR away from this property! If you want more opinions from others...... look into the google reviews of this place first. I should have!

The location was excellent. Very close to the beach. Other than that there are not a lot of positive things to say about this hotel. The hotel itself is very outdated. The room smelled musty and there were flies coming up the drain in the sink. The door hardly opened. I had to use my shoulder to push the door open because it was stuck. This occurred every time I tried to open the door. The pool appeared to be clean but the spa did not work properly. Only one or the two of the Jets turned on they appeared to be clogged as well. If you don’t mind the drive I would travel to Alpena for better selection of hotels.

Thank you for the feedback. We encourage this to help us improve any shortcomings. We are currently in the process of power washing and repainting the front of the motel. We are also replacing the outside carpet and working on getting the pool back up to par. Thank you for staying with us. We hope you give us another opportunity in the future. Sincerely, Driftwood Motel Team
