The Pointe is a wonderful property! Our room was So large and even had an electric fireplace. We enjoyed the view of the lake and the comfortable bed. We were looking for a relaxing weekend in Minocqua and it could not have been better thanks to our stay at The Pointe!

The room included separate living room, dining room seating, kitchenet and balcony seating for two. Out night stay was like a home away from home. Thank you

The room I had, a one bedroom condo, had a (locked) door to a connected room. Since the door wasn't sound proof, I could hear sounds, even conversations through the door. Presumably, they could hear me as well. The staff said they could not move me because I had booked through Orbitz. The breakfast provided was so-so and uses lots of non-recyclable or reusable items (plastic cups and spoons, styrofoam plates, etc.). I would like to see them try to reduce waste in this regards.

I was disappointed to hear back from my parents for whom I booked a special 50th Annivesary stay at the Pointe Hotel And Suites. They had several issues with the hotel staff regarding handicap accessibility. They were traveling with my brother who has special needs and they were put in a room at the very end of the hall. When they brought that to the front desk manager's attention, they felt he didn't seem to be concerned and made no effort to change their room. I can understand due to occupancy that may not have been possible the first day, however, something could have been done the next day. The hotel staff repeatedly told my parents "Oh you booked on Orbitz" as if that was second class to booking directly with hotel. Just for the record I booked on Orbitz because the hotel has a cancellation fee and Orbitz did not. Also I prepaid three days for the boat slip rental and when they arrived with their boat there were a group of people fishing off the dock and they were not willing to move so my parents could dock their boat right away. The entire stay every time they brought the boat back there people were fishing on that specific dock. Since I did not stay at the hotel personally I am unable to say how the amenities are or how clean the property is. One small thing that disappointed me was that the hotel knew in advance that my parents were there for their 50th Anniversary and not one person wished them a Happy Anniversary. I think that speaks volumes alone.

Loved the great location of the facility and the fact that it was directly on Lake Minocqua!

Room was very comfortable and spacious. It also had a walk out balcony with a great view of the lake. Hot breakfast was excellent as well. I would highly recommend.

Thank you for your review. An individual that books through an on-line travel agency (OTA) like Orbitz must understand that that OTA "owns" that reservation and takes all hotel flexibility to address such issues away. The guest must first contact the OTA to discuss needed changes. The OTA will not address any guest stay issue with the hotel as the hotel did not make the booking. An OTA will possibly make changes only when the guest booking the reservation contacts them first, and then the OTA will contact the hotel to discuss the needed change. The hotel cannot arbitrarily make changes, that's very important to understand! An OTA restricts anyone other than the OTA or the guest making the reservation from making any alterations to an their reservation. As much as we strive to accommodate everyone's needs, unfortunately that is not always possible due to OTA restrictions. It is easy to make a booking through an OTA, however, that reservation comes with OTA restrictions which may make it very inconvenient and troubling for a guest. I would highly recommend that reservations be made directly with a hotel so a guest that may have special requests can discuss firsthand those details with hotel staff so the guest can be appropriately accommodated. We certainly do this. When making a reservation, the guest chooses the room style, the style chosen for your parents are only located in the area that they were in. When a guest has never been to our property we highly recommend a direct call to the hotel to gather as much information as possible before making an OTA booking, as we have six room styles, all located in specific locations. It is always our goal to "fit" the room to the guest. As for your parents anniversary, unfortunately that information does not come through to the hotel in a memo or anything, so we were unaware of the occasion.
