After a weary red-eye flight, we arrived many hour before check in time. Staff went out of their way to give us a room to unwind from our trip, take a shower, and a nap.

Staff was very accommodating and helpful. One staff member from the front desk area, Bartek Zabel, was extremely helpful on multiple occasions.

All the furnishings and furniture was worn out. Shower curtain was stained and ripped. Not a good value for the money. Better options are available around the corner.

I liked that the hotel is modern. The breakfast buffet was great, although too crowded. The staff was polite, but not overly friendly or welcoming. We were happy with our stay.

Grand Hotel is a upscale, clean hotel with large sizes of beds that most americans are used to, at least we are. Hotel staff was very helpful in advice, and booking the tours given the bad weather that faced us during our stay. The spa is very nice and clean and is a great way to spend your time especially if the weather outside is bad. Location wise, this property is not central, it is about USD 16-20 to go the city center but during summer months, I can see this to be a great walk.

This hotel is stunning and has great amenities. It’s a little far from the downtown scene if you have to walk in the colder months... but it’s a beautiful place!

Perfect welcome to Iceland. Excellent staff and dining

Rude staff upon check in. The room was not ready past the check in time, I complained and was given 2 spa vouchers but I NEVER use spa amenities especially when I did not bring a swimsuit for hot tub. I requested 2 double beds and was given a single. On our last day we were not allowed to have breakfast upon check out. Will NOT be staying here ever again and would NOT recommend to anyone. Only positive was the amazing staff in the breakfast buffet.

Ok hotel, staff excellent, dining closed on Fri.unless you wanted an expensive buffet had to eat at the bar

Beautiful hotel , great experience, walking distance to all. Big spacious room. And the breakfast was incredible.

The hotel was very accommodating and helpful throughout my stay. The concierge was amazing! Some of the tours I booked were canceled due to storms but she helped us book other tours so as to avoid having a boring day in the hotel doing nothing. The staff here were really helpful!

I have a great time while staying at the Grand Hotel! Staff from the Front Desk , Restaurant and Housekeeping did a good job. Always there to help us. Overall, very satisfactory...

The only downside is it's about a 30'min walk to down town. There is a shuttle every 2 hours but coming back will cost around 20 bucks

Short 6 night stay in Reykjavik. The hotel is somewhat far from a lot of the restaurants and bars but it has everything that you could need there. The rooms were very basic but had the essentials and were clean. The breakfast had a lot of selection.

Freakin loved everything about this gorgeous hotel but mostly it was the staff. Super nice staff!!

The hotel was a bit of a walk to downtown (2.5km) but the space was beautiful and the rooms were clean. The bed was really comfortable and the staff was nice!

Bed was very uncomfortable and low to the floor. Can't get good night sleep. My room was faced on the main road. It was noisy form the traffic and people from parking lot, Didn't enjoy staying at this hotel. Only thing good was the breakfast.

Had a great stay. Friendly staff, great location. Definately stay there again.

Hotel was big and modern, the lobby was gorgeous and room was large. The staff was friendly for the most part, the front desk staff not nearly as eager to help as the restaurant staff. A few things that took away from the hotel - 1) The parking was horrendous both Friday and Saturday night. I was forced to circle around the parking lot a good 10-15 minutes both nights before a spot opened up! 2) It sounded like there was a night club directly below us booming both nights. I didn't complain because I stay up late anyway but if I were trying to sleep it would have been impossible. 3) The rooms have no alarm clock, no robes and no slippers. The slippers and robe add a sense of luxury which would go a long way but the alarm clock (or clock in general) should be standard. 4) We ordered room service Satruday evening, and asked for two drinks. We didn't receive either but were charged for both. They reconciled in the morning. 5) There was an additional room service charge that we did not order on our tab which we had to have resolved. Luckily it was brought to our attention by a lovely woman named Fey, during our breakfast. I assume she was a restaurant manager. She noticed the charge on her own and thought it was a mistake, so she came over and informed us. I thought that was impeccable customer serivce on her part! 5) The bed wasn't that comfortable and the blanket was small and did not cover both my husband and myself. I had to sleep in a sweat suit! I also didn't feel like it was very clean.. There was a hair on the pillow when we first checked in. Positives- -The gym was nice and all the equipment was super modern! -The lobby is impressive and great to hang out and have dinner or some drinks. -The breakfast buffet was great! (Additional cost) -Wifi worked great. -Great location not too far from anything and close access to the 1. I will most likely look for another hotel during my next visit.

Hi! Thank you for this review. We are always happy to see all comments and your point is of course noted. We are constantly working on improving our rooms and we are renovating floor after floor so I´m pretty sure the next time you will visit Iceland this will not be an issue.
