THIS is the place where PRISON MATTRESSES go to DIE. From the worn carpet that was ONLY STRINGS at the threshold to the sink that was just HANGING in the bathroom this was a disaster. The beds were painfully low because they were thin, awful, plastic wrapped junk. The box springs had only box and no strings. The "bedspreads" had cigarette burns and material missing (cut out) along with stains of unknown origin. The air conditioner worked, but sounded like the starting cart for a jet engine. The shower had no tub stopper, nor an overflow drain, just a hole where the drain should have been. The shower would not reach to my nipples and I'm 5'10". Shall I go on -- or would you like to compare the pictures on the web site to the sad excuse for a room that I stayed in. It was cheap, but for $30 I could have stayed in ANY of the nicer Hotels. The savings was NOT worth it.

There was no ice machine. The pool hadn't been cleaned in months. The TV remote didn't have an off button.

It was clean and easy to find in Reno. Could walk downtown easy. The pool was still empty and we couldn’t find a hot tub either.

Clean hotel- thanks. Keep it up. Coffee in room or. Lobby would be nice.

No front desk staff on check-in at 8 p.m.; I was directed to one of the rooms where a grouchy, sleepy guy gave me a key. Pool ,supposed to be open till ten, was padlocked; the grouch said it's open till ten, but if not, he can't do anything about it, he's not the boss and has no key. Grungy neighborhood, your basic rock-bottom bargain facilities (though I have stayed at the Nugget, the Sands, and other Reno casinos for less money, many times). But the bed was comfortable and the A/C was just about able to keep the room from overheating all night.

It was OK for travelers on a tight budget, but a lot of wear and tear on it. Still, it was cheap and clean enough.

Dump.....not as photos shown.....dirty bed that slept in, looks like it had more than bed bugs lived in, mold in shower no tube. requesting full refund watched out for pre check in using credit card trick paper receipt out of paper can I swipe your card again billed 2x's....fulltime residents scary.

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean but dated. Fairly quiet for being on a busy street. Had a microwave and mini fridg. Shower had great water pressure. Negatives- the plug in air freshener was very overwhelming and gave me a headache. Had to put put it outside the room and ran the bathroom fan for a while.

Great staff rooms need updated. Room was clean just old. Staff upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge. Really enjoyed our stay. Room is walking distance to the strip.

Staff was good, when we checked in the light bulbs were all out they were prompt in replacing them. The quality of tenants was terrible. I think this hotel rents out weekly or monthly rooms. We didn't feel safe at all

holiday weekend, great rates. helpful customer service

Got this room for the bbq rib cookoff in sparks. Cheap room and its nothing fancy. But it was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and let us check in early. 10 min walk to major hotels. I would go back.

I loved my stay! The bed was soooo comfortable. The staff that I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Wonderful location.

Friendly, attentive staff. Acceptable amenities for the price. Plenty of parking. Walking distance to downtown. Only downside really was the cigarette smell from previous occupants of this non-smoking room.

there is no one on the front desk even when you call always answering machine when you leave a message they dont call back....i only stayed for 1 night and i'm trying to call to cancel the 2 days or maybe credit back atleast a day but no answer or call back....

It was in a cluster of similar motels, and was close to all of the facilities which I was accessing. I walked from Amtrak, and walked to express buses (5-6 blocks).

this place was like a residence motel. Sketchy people walking around at all hours. GROSS

The Desert Rose is a basic roadside motel and serves as a fine base for staying in Reno for several days. Easy to get to from the Casino's, no hassle, clean-enough rooms and nice staff. In all, fine value for the money. I would start to get stir crazy staying here more than 3 days, but for a long weekend it's good.

upon arrival, staff could not find reservation. said he could not help us. we called booking agent, they talked to him, we finally got our room after some time.[...]

It was within walking distance to the main Virginia St strip of nicer places, but it was a motel straight out of the 60s or 70s. Definitely did not feel like the safest of places. For like 20 bucks more or even 30 bucks more, I would've rather stayed at a nicer place. It was very old and run down looking inside the room and out.

Mr. Anonymous.... Due to the virus covid-19, for the safety of our guests we shut down the ice machine. We do in fact have one and it does in fact work. With the town shutting down due to the virus we would normally be opening our pool this week but with all at a stand still we never had our chemicals for the pool delivered. Again Covid-19. Sorry about the remote, I will get with my staff immediately, If a remote is missing a "off button" power button we would normally remove it. I will get with staff on all these issue's. Thank you.

Thank you for booking with us. Clean is very important and the other little things "wear and tear" are things we are working on a little at a time. Affordable is what we want to be, and stay so a little at a time.
