Upon check in there was no desk attendant. There was no bell or sign indicating an issue. Another customer stated she had been waiting for 15 minutes. We tried calling out, looking down the hallways, and calling the hotel phone without any luck. After about 10 minutes, he showed up and checked us in but was not very apologetic. Getting into our room there was a smell in the room. We could not tell if this was a basement musty smell (even though we were on the 3rd floor) or what it was. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The hot tub was out of order. There was a black stain of some sort on the underneath side of the blanket/bedding. Because of Covid, the normal breakfast was replaced with a ready to go breakfast bag and cold cereal, however the ready to go bag was not available on the second morning. We actually tried calling to get another reservation elsewhere, but unfortunately with it being Labor Day weekend we had no luck. This was definitely not up to normal Hampton standards as we have had in the past.

Staff was very friendly. Pool was excellent with kids. Beds were comfy. But... room was dirty. Pee stains several places on the toilet, hair in the bathroom, trash on the window sill, clearly not vacuumed. It was like beds had been changed and clean towels put out, but nothing else had been cleaned. Told the receptionist, but had no authority to do anything. Hotel was fully booked. Was told manager would be told, but when we checked out the next morning, nothing! I would love to give this hotel a great review, but when I pay for a Hampton Inn, I expect a clean room!

The location was great for what we needed to go on a tour of Mt. Rushmore.

This hotel's location near I-90 made it a good central location for seeing the sights in and around Rapid City. Easy access to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Devil's Tower (WY) all of which we visited. Hot breakfast was delicious and the staff kept everything well stocked so there was no waiting in the dining area. Great service from the hotel staff, from housekeeping all the way up to the manager. We will stay again.

I found the Hampton Inn in Rapid City to be everything I needed in a comfortable and well-located hotel. While it doesn't have its own restaurant, it is located near a number of good restaurants from fast food to an excellent steak house. It is easy to get out of the hotel and visit all the sites in the Black Hills and Badlands.

We brought our Dad here for a stroll down memory lane and to see some of the touristy sights that he didn't often visit when he grew up here. The hotel is located right next to I-90 and along one of the major north-south routes in town so it made it easy to get where we needed to go. The free breakfast was a nice perk and the rooms are always kept in tiptop shape by the housekeeping team. The manager is helpful and knowledgeable and can provide recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Very pleased.

Everything was as expected staying at a Hampton Inn.

This was the most expensive and disappointing Hampton I have ever stayed at. The only elevator is slow and I was staying on the third floor. Each day when I got back to my room I would have to go back down to the lobby and have a new card key issued. Twice they did not even ask for ID. The carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced. The speaker on the 42" flat screen was blown. AND they ran out of cookies every night before I got there. I complained to the hotel manager about this and she said she was sorry.

This is a really nice hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good in the morning and they rotated items for every day; which was good because we were there for 7 days. They also kept the breakfast bar pretty well stocked, even when it was close to closing time. I liked that the hotel was clean and quiet. We weren't able to hear our neighbors and what they were doing. A good location; it's right off the interstate and close to restaurants and stores like Walmart, etc. If we ever come to Rapid City again, we would stay here again!

Te room was ooked using my card/ itwas put in my daughters name as she had medical appt. and went p first, they asked her for a credit card, sent a note up te next day saying th room had to be paid for,so I called them and [...]to et things straightened out.

Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. I left my coat there and they shipped it back to me. I thought I lost my coat, but they had it and returned it to me.
