My tv didn’t work. The air conditioner had a huge gap on one side to the outside where as mosquitos or bats could fly into the room. I had to plug the open area with roll of paper towels. I requested a balcony room and was told I didn’t pay for that, even when it’s covid and the hotel was empty along with this being a rebooking of unused credit coupon as a result of Covid.

Encino Hotel was a great choice for an authentic hotel and budget friendly. No remote is provided for the air conditioning. Air Conditioning and TV remotes should always be provided to guests. Air conditioning units should be updated because I"m sure the old air conditioning units have mold spores. The window curtains should be replaced in the rooms because there is mold on the back of them, which is unhealthy for guests. The pool needs to be retiled. I do not like wearing hotel bracelets, but that's a personal preference. I recommend this place if your looking for an authentic place and on a budget. The elevator is older and not always working. Just be aware of the concerns mentioned above. The hotel staff was friendly this trip. This was a pleasant change. I would stay again.

Curtains don’t work in all rooms. Elevator is working again currently. Front desk is not timely with room issues. Pool is clean. No safes in room. Room type not always provided as requested under reservation or in person. Other hotels in the area have friendlier front desk staff. Hotel doesn’t allow early check in even if room available like other hotels in the area. Meets the needs for budget travel with patience.

Shower door was broken and not promptly fixed. I was unable to shower and had to wast over an hour to get a resolution, in my swim trunks. Many of the curtains in this hotel do not work properly.

Bed was soft and did not offer support for my trunk when I slept. There’s a smell in the room either from sewage or the stale river behind the hotel . Staff and workers were helpful though . Great location .

The location is very good, close to many things. The rooms are very clean. I liked it. Just a few things. There are no lockboxes in the rooms. The staff talk and make noise loudly early in the mornings.

No elevator for entire length of stay. Staff person said no elevator for month. Maid service is superior. This hotel does not offer king bed. Great location. Front desk needs to be friendlier. Do not touch metal under air conditioning or you will receive an electrical shock. Beware, especially if you have a pacemaker.

pretty design close to beach. but if you need the elevator it doesn't work and you might end up with a room at the top. no ground floor rooms.. its 2 flights to each floor. elevator is why I chose this one. another patron said he had been there 3 months and it had not worked the entire time.. still good for the price.

I found this hotel just to be ok. Disappointed with security of the room due to a window in the room that was not very secure. and bed sizes are too small and hard.

The staff at checkout or even check in should thank customers for their business “Thanks for staying with us.”. The hotel staff (gentleman) at the front desk doesn’t seem friendly to customers. Customers should feel at home on check in and check out and appreciated for selecting your hotel. Works needs to be done at check in and check out to be more friendly for each customer. Allow check in before 3:00 if room is available. Allow twin bed or double bed selection when room is reserved. The maid service staff is very good. Thank you. I hope the hotel continues to work with the front check in and check out staff for a friendly welcome and check out! I think the wristbands are a nuisance for customers and dislike them around town or outside of the hotel. Thank you for my stay.

Hotel rejects verified reviews. Room not provided as described with balcony. Had to waste extended time and be ignored by front desk until issue resolved. Early check in not allowed even when rooms available. Front desk (male) was rude to customers checking in. Ants in room, had to ask for room to be sprayed. Beds are hard. No safe in rooms. No luggage Assistance. Only 1 key provided. Remote provided with deposit.

Hotel rejects verified reviews. No king beds, only double bed and twin bed at this hotel. Twin bed request not available at time of check in, nor was the riverview balcony. Front desk told me pool would close for 19 days, which did close during my stay. Hotel makes you wear brackets now unlike other local and authentic hotels. I do not like bracelets. Hotel should provide and guarantee choice of bed selection at time of booking. Bracelets should not be required. Beds are very hard. They should update travel sites regarding pool closures, which is s major amenity and reduce rates during this period.

Hotel rejects negative verified reviews. There were Ants in room, no choice of bed type during reservation or at check in. Room with river view and balcony not provided as reserved or described. They do not have king beds (double or twin beds only and based on availability at check in).
