I've been to a few different resorts in the DR. This just felt blah and antiquated.
The internet was not working the whole time we were there. I liked the beach and cliff area. It looks a bit beaten up by Hurricane Ike still.
I've just arrived back 3/6/2019 from this all "inclusive" resort this resort maybe was all inclusive awhile ago (50 years ago) but now it is ghost resort maybe 10% of this hotel is occupied about 15- 20 people at one time not more Only one restaurant is working all other restaurants are closed The hotel need major renovation and no property maintenance exist at present time at all. The worst in this all inclusive is weekend when local people with street girls renting this hotel for their good time You simply not feel yourself safe and admin should not mix all inclusive people with these weekend people in the same building The best part of this hotel just view on the bay. Food is OK consider that only 10-15 people eat in one time in place where maybe 100 persons could eat simultaneously - not to much variety but everything is fresh ORBITZ must remove this hotel from the all inclusive and remove it at all from the offering it to us at all
Staff seems quite good and friendly, but design and management are lax. 190 rooms, and one Very small bar. Bar is often closed as bartender has to help in dinning room at meal times. If any more than 10% of rooms were full it would be a real problem. No wine AT ALL in the property. On checking in was issued a room that was filthy, dirty towels laying on floor etc. They did move me to a fairly nice room. 76 steps from the bar to my room, no elevator. I would advise spending a few more dollars and staying somewhere else

I had a prepaid reservation but still took 45 minutes to get room key. I was giving a 3rd floor room with view of dirt lot instead of garden view paid for. The toilet in room was broken had to place float in by hand to prevent from flooding room. I had paid for all inclusive but was provided with only 1 meal before informed must change bracelet if wanted to bring guest in. Was told by Maria Day manager this is rule the decided the night before only for Super Bowl week. Wifi was out in the room for 3 straight days and only worked 2 out of 7. On weekend hotel was over booked and the rules where no longer enforced on the African American guest, They were allowed to bring in Prostitutes at anytime of day, but the White customers had the rules enforced on them. On Saturday and Sunday the Manager was not available for many upset customers, who had rooms without A/C, refrigerator, or even running water. The hotel just kept filling rooms that were not up to standard to make a cash grab. It is very hard to enjoy a vacation when you must go to lobby to access Wifi and listen to disgruntled customers not getting any remedy to problem. I have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions but I will never spend another penny in it. Orbitz needs to review it all inclusive claims. This is not the hotel for families or for white customers.
