central location. very friendly staff. there was a concert next door one of the nights and they were very apologetic, otherwise it was quiet for being right on the main drag.

We spent a night at Hotel Lunata in late March, 2014. It is a "hacienda" style hotel, clean, reasonably well-appointed, and with an exceptionally friendly and welcoming desk staff. Personally, I did not like the location, which is on a busy main street in the center of Playa del Carmen, one populated by cheesy, low-class shops catering to tourists (you cannot walk ten feet without someone aggressively trying to sell you something, which I found quite annoying). However, if you don't mind or are actually seeking such an environment for your vacation, then Hotel Lunata is one of the better places to stay. The price is fair by United States standards, although definitely on the pricier side for a Mexican hotel...about 180.00 USD per night. There are many other hotels away from the crowded center of Playa del Carmen that cost somewhat less and offer many more amenities, although one must devote some time to locating these.

Found this hotel on recent trip to Cancun. The staff was great in helping with transportation issues back to airport. Hotel room was great, Great room with great view of courtyard. Breakfast provided was just enough. This hotel is in the heart of Playa. Restaurants were everywhere within walking distance.

Very nice friendly staff in a great location. Room was great. Will definitely stay here again.

in the "honky tonk" section, but reasonably well-appointed...
