The staff was wonderful- all very kind and helpful. We particularly enjoyed Armando, who was our waiter every night in the buffet restaurant.

Only single restaurant open per night. If you were not at certain time in line, you had to wait 1-2 hrs, or even didn’t get in. Unfortunately the buffet is sub par and some nights even 5.99 Chinese buffet would feel like a 5 star meal compared to Catalonia’s buffet. There was barely anything for our kids to eat. Why not add chicken nuggets and hot dogs to buffet always? We feel like we went about a year too early. I fully understand the recovery from covid, but when resort is over half full, you just have to have more food options. Also the wait in line for everything is exhausting. Overall we won’t be back.

I liked that it was in a jungle. I disliked the service and the restrictions they had in place because of COVID and because it was raining during our stay.

The resort was beautiful and surrounded by nature. The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. The facilities were clean and well-kept. Because of covid, not fault of the resort, many restaurants were closed. And because of the time of our travel, June, there was so much algae in the water that we were not able to enjoy the beach. It looked gross. The buffet food was okay - not impressed - I mean, there was no ice cream! :) There honestly was not a whole lot to do in the resort other than the pool. It's also isolated from other resorts, which made traveling and exploring a bit more difficult. Bottom line: if you want a quiet place where you can truly disconnect and relax, I would recommend this resort. If you are wanting to explore and be active, there are others I would recommend.

Amazing place. One of the best beaches we have seen in the area after having stayed at other hotels. Great staff and really solid food for the price. A for everything

Me agrado mucho la limpieza de cuarto, siempre dejaban un monito elaborqdo, era un lindo detalle. La comida estuvo muy bien

Service was really good, very family oriented. Alot of fun activities

Amazing place. Under covid circumstances they are doing what they could. Went to this resort a few times always happy. One of the best beaches out there. Dont go between march 28 and mid of April, place will be extremely packed

Long wait for check in. Very poor amenities and activities. Few restaurant options and are open every other day. Dinning options are limited. Very small resort. Its is likely the worst resort we have stayed in the Mayan Riviera.

My sister and I felt that they did an excellent job at limited capacity, cleanliness and proactive measures to keep people healthy. All employees wore masks and all food service employees also work face shields. All menus were done with a QR code; they checked your temp and always had sanitizer you had to put on when entering to eat at a restaurant; they sanitized our luggage when we arrived and overall the place was very clean. I was very impressed and felt more comfortable as a result. And to top it off, the staff were super helpful and friendly. It was such a winds weekend.

Staff and service was great. Rooms where clean and comfortable. Pool area was nice. Seaweed was only thing that was a little issue.

Me gusto la playa , el servicio . No me gusto la espera en los restaurantes a la carta

Beach was the best we’ve seen. It had a flat easy entry with no rocks. Palm trees instead of palapas. Food was normal fair but better quality and preparation. Only negatives were bar opens at 11:00 so no tequila for breakfast.

Nice location. Awesome pool and beach. Great food.

What a wonderful resort. The location at first may seem a bit south from the main hotel strip, but it 100% worth it if you want peace and quiet, but still do some awesome partying. The Catalonia is constantly being upgraded, and what other may say about it being dated is a bit short sighted....... my reply is like most tropical locations - it's constantly growing..... Water both pool and Caribbean sea side are beautiful and if you want to SCUBA, the on site certified site is perfect! Room we had was super well kept, and anything we needed was taken care of quickly. A special shout out to the staff - Lemuel H., and Javier are two amazing servers that really went above and beyond. YOU will find the staff will wow you. Entertainment is really cool. They have a local troop that does dancing most nights, and then are the event directors during the day, I have NO idea how they can keep up with all the activities... But they do, and will pull you in with a smile. Make sure to attend the 9:30 shows... each day is different and well produced for a small band of performers. They really put their heart into the performances. Oh - one thing to remember - as it's all inclusive - bring cash along when you go to the pool, or other activities. Tipping is not expected, but you will regret not having the ability to tip on a whim... as the staff deserve it.
