We loved the retro theme of the resort, and they were doing an excellent job of keeping things clean and sanitized.

The theme was so neat and everyone was so welcoming!

Our room was very clean. The bathroom fixtures were new and the hot water was plenty . We stayed in the Castaway building in a family suite . The sofa and chairs just starting to become a bit worn . We had poolside room , which was steps from pool entrance , very convenient , but noisy , until pool closes and people return from the park . I would recommend a noise machine if sleeping on pullout sofa bed , which by the way was pretty comfy for a sofa bed. The whole place has a nice resort feel to it , especially the pool area at night . The water slide and the back of the building itself in need of some power washing near the metal fixtures. As far as hotel amenities, lots to eat outside at the pool and of course the Bayside Diner . Prices are pretty standard for hotel and theme park cuisine. The one thing which I was not happy about was the very long line for Starbucks. No matter what time you got there in the morning the wait time was at least 20 min to 1/2 hr. The coffee maker in the room worked well and tasted pretty good . They do not have tea bags but it does make plain hot water if you bring your own bags . Overall, this place is definitely for families with kids . My grandkids loved it and that’s what it’s all about .

Everything was perfect at our hotel.. for our sons 1st down there is already talking about going back down their again..

This hotel had a fun, retro feel to it. We paid extra for a really cool view of the volcano in the water park, but for the most part that was wasted money. After the first hour we were over the view and with all of the activities in the hotel and the surrounding attractions, we were rarely in our room. This is a very nice place to stay, clean, friendly Staff, convenient location. However, there are a lot of nice hotels in the area, that provides breakfast and free parking. Not the $20 per day we were charged. A nice benefit for staying here is that you are able to get into Islands of Adventure park one hour early, taken by free shuttle bus. The downside is that even if you go there a half hour before that, the wait line was over a quarter mile long, behind all the other Universal Resorts guests. This line would be shorter if they opened parks early, but they don't.

70’s retro theme hotel that’s family friendly. Rooms are small and very basic.

super good, my family was happy they loved everything thank you very much

We were wowed by the Cabana Bay Resort, it had everything we needed in one place plus transportation to Universal Studios.

Upon arrival at 4:30pm there was a 2hr line to check in even though our room was prepaid and all information on file. We left and went shopping for 2 hours and returned to a 2.5hr line. Went to dinner and returned to the line still at a 2hr wait. It was 9:30pm by the time we got our room. Staff was very ignorant and pushy about wearing masks, although you aren’t required to do so in THE MOST crowded area, the pool. The pool area is expansive and no mask required, yet when approaching a booth to check out a life vest or a tube, they make you walk all the way back to your sitting area to get a mask, come back, get a tube, take mask back to get in the water. This accomplished NOTHING. Hello!!! We are swimming and surrounded by 500 people with no mask on. What are you trying to accomplish. They don’t ask nicely either, everyone throughout the property has a nasty and spiteful attitude when asking you to put a mask on. Furthermore, they tel you no coolers in the pool area for your safety. LOL. Is this a joke. Don’t lie to me. No coolers in the pool area so you spend more of your money at our pool. There is no safety concern in bringing a cooler to the pool. This place is a joke, and all these situations made it a terrible stay, not because of their policy, but because they’re lack of management. Nobody to step in and speed up check in by placing more people at the desk. Ask to wear a mask nicely, don’t treat your customers like walking infections with no name.

Love Cabana Bay! We have been coming back for several years and can’t get enough of the place. The retro style, location, lazy river, and even how they light the pool area at night (the pool adjacent to the lazy river) come together to create a unique experience. A plus!

Resort was very clean felt safe during COVID plenty of hand sanitizer and the staff was very friendly really enjoyed our stay

3 of us went and there didn’t seem like enough storage in the room for all our clothes.. only 2 drawers and a few hangers.. not a problem.. we’ve lived out of suitcases before.. also if the pool is closed .( storms /lightening) ... the pool bars are also closed.. this happened at 1230 and there weren’t any bars open in the resort.. the other bars didn’t open until 5... but the pools are open until 11pm which was great. The life guards are amazing.. they DONT take their eyes off the pool for a second!! The food was really good and there were a lot of choices. The bowling and arcade room were a lot of fun too.. I had a 6 yr old with me that had a blast! Free shuttles to city walk and universal studios were great.. never had to wait more than a few minutes. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean.

Just completely love the Retro vibe. Staff is super friendly and great proximity to the parks. Love the complimentary shuttle to the park.

I did like everything about Cabana Bay, excellent hotel, food was great and pools are very nice.

Love the decor & proximity to the parks. Super friendly staff. Gift shop has a nice variety of unique merchandise. Beds were very comfortable. I like the extra room in the suite.
