Excellent location, and great customer service at the front desk, however, the staff at the restaurant lacks basic customer service skills, thy were even rude at times. Room was nice, but hotel lobby needs rennovation.

Loved this hotel in Nice, charming, great location, especially enjoyed the outdoor areas with great views. Staff was very helpful with suggestions for dinner.

I remembered seeing this hotel when I was in Nice in the '80's. I found it and booked it for a 3 day side trip form Spain. The location and the views from our large upper deck were specticular. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I met many people who stay at the hotel for extended stays ( 2 or 3 weeks) duing the summer. The beach and many points of interests are a easy walk along with numerous fantastic restaurants. I can't wait for another visit and a longer stay!

We booked a sea view room with a balcony. Views were fantastic. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Booked a driver for us to be picked up from airport. The location for us was perfect near the outdoor market and a ton of restaurants. Walking distance to most places. The walls were a little thin and could hear people in other rooms. A person in the room next to us lit up a cigar on the balcony and that was the end of our enjoyment on the balcony. Could have sat there for hours looking at the sea.

The lobby and hallways were disappointingly dreary, though the views from the roof were spectacular. We had a large, clean, and comfortable room with a patio. The staff was helpful, if a little impatient. The hot water was not working when we got there, so we had to wait to take showers later. The breakfast was expensive and not particularly good.

Wonderful stay at beach side boutique hotel- lots of charm and great views of Sea from bedroom patio. Great breakfast served in room. Enjoyed excellent lunch in garden location next to pool. Expensive, but worth the cost.

Pros: great service, great location near old town, private beach, pool Cons: pricey rooms, breakfast not included, no view from pool deck

This hotel is perfectly situated if your focus, like ours, was to spend time in the Old Town and flower/vegetable markets. The color and all the restaurants are all within 5 minutes walk. It's also an easy walk to the port, and overlooks one end of Nice's fantastic beach. The service was excellent--I particularly appreciated the thoughtful huddle of three desk clerks when I asked for a recommendation of a restaurant they'd go to themselves. Our room was very comfortable, and overall we thought the hotel was very good value--not cheap, but worth the cost. In fairness, we wouldn't recommend La Perouse for families with smaller children (very limited grounds for play nearby except the beach, which is across the road) or for people with serious leg or knee trouble (the restaurant is only accessible by stairs).
