The property was conveniently located near the beach and also a short distance from downtown Newport

The room wasn't clean with dirty sheets and wine was left in the fridge. The jacuzzi was not able to be used even with a appointment . The very young staff behind the desk weren't much help.

I liked that it was across the street from the beach and the cliff walk. Going during COVID I was surprised it didn’t seem to be cleaned well enough in our room. There were surfaces that obviously not clean. The remote did not work from bed. Although another remote was brought to us, it didn’t work from bed also. We needed a key to get into the hot tub but it didn’t work and once I got into the hot tub it was just warm.

Like property and parking. Room windows overlooking ocean are too small

Booked a 560SF room (per Orbitz), received max. 250SF room. Was told at hotel that this is historic building and they don't have 560SF rooms. As advertised premium bedding and down comforter was not received neither. Instead, got cheap polyester pillows and comforter. Cheap low quality sheets too. Mold in a shower, clogged bathroom sink, a pool which is a size of 1 car parking lot. That's the package you get with this 'historic hotel' for a price of over $500 for 2 night weekday stay. Absolutely not worthy it.

I like the powerful jet hot tub, and I liked the water front view. I also liked the comfortable bed and pillow. I didnt like the very tiny room size, cracked tv, broken light bulb lamp, and no bottled water provided.

Great service and great room! In a great location easy and cheap (about 7$) uber to downtown, much cheaper than parking!

The property is in a good location. However, the pictures they have on the room on orbitz is not the actual room you will receive.

I loved how cleaned our room was, and how friendly the staff was. Definitely coming back.

Small room but fine for overnight, clean; the first gentleman I spoke to on the phone when I called (about checking in AFTER the wedding we were attending) could not locate our reservation at all....I called back later and someone else found it.

Hotel staff was incredible, room was comfortable and location is #1

Staff was very pleasant and the rooms were cozy. The beach is right across the street. Too bad the bar is closed in the hotel but there were plenty around the area within walking distance

When did basic customer service lose its priority in a customer service industry. I am appalled really by the lack of attention to detail here at Newport Beach Hotel and Suites. I came on Friday 21 July 2017. We left the room on Saturday to check out the beach got some sand in the tub before 1pm. We returned early afternoon and the room had not been cleaned or the tub. Sunday we go out again to return to an unserviced room. I called the front desk and someone came to clean the bathroom and empty the trash. I checked behind him to find the tub unclean. I was told there would be a $15 discount for the inconvenience. The soaps were replaced in the room Monday morning, however none of the cups which were all depleted were replaced. The personnel behaved as if they were being inconvenienced to do simple things. I paid the what I considered excessive fee for this room because I wanted my son who is reporting to duty on Tuesday July 25 to enjoy his last days prior. Even he said the service was terrible. Oh, I had to ask for face towels as none were in the room when we checked in. The smells in the hallways wreak of mold and mildew. We were awakened early Monday morning with pounding we were told came from tile repairs to the laundry room. I have had better service from a $50 hotel. Toilet ran all day. I would not recommend this hotel to someone who cares about cleanliness and basic customer service, even with the beach across the street. Also the tub was stopped up also

We had a group of 8 staying for the night. The downstairs bar was dry which was great. We brought our own liquor and had some snacks and had a blast before heading out to eat. Nice view and no disturbances. It was perfect.

Loved everything about this hotel. The staff was wonderful, the room was fresh and inviting. Loved it so much. Will always stay here.

Musty smell thruout but that's the first thing to greet you. Historic rooms are NOT worth the money-so small you trip over your own luggage on the floor. No coffee creamer one day. No dining or any breakfast items, very busy street if you've got little kids. Staff at front kinda perpetually grouchy.

We stayed for 1 night in February. We could hear the traffic so clearly we thought the window was open even though it wasn't. In the middle of the night my husband and I were woken by a rumbling noise we thought at first was the radiator but realized it was someone in the next room snoring! The room was tiny, only space for one night stand next to the bed so I had to put my cell phone, glasses and water on the floor on my side.
