I read the reviews for this hotel I thought 2 things: 1) It seriously can’t be that bad, it’s on the upper West side & 2) the people that wrote those reviews clearly didn’t book the “premier” room that I was booking…boy was I wrong! Upon arrival we were greeted by the overwhelming stench of weed inside of a lobby that looks like it is straight out of a 70s horror movie. In addition, we were welcomed by a sex worker comfortably lounging on the lobby couch. The guy behind the desk was nice enough so I thought maybe the lobby is the last item on their renovation list, we’ll give this place a chance. Got our room key, headed to the elevator that I’m guessing was last inspected in 1923 when it was installed. When the doors opened to floor 11, we were again immersed in the aroma of weed but this time with added notes of urine and cigarette smoke. We made our way down a labyrinth of hallways that were painted black from floor to ceiling to hide what I can only imagine was an array of assorted bodily fluids. I know what you’re thinking, why didn’t you turn around and leave immediately…well 1) I had a “premier” room remember? and 2) it was 1 am on the weekend before Christmas…we didn’t have another option at the time. So after navigating the maze and entering our “premier” room whose decor can only be described as a mixture of a 1980s steakhouse and 1990s ikea with a sprinkle of filth, we knew we would be cutting our stay from 3 nights down to 1. Thankfully the sheets were clean.

For an average of $330/night, this was highway robbery! This hotel is in a horrible neighborhood, is filthy and unswept. There were broken crack vials on the carpet, the hallways were dirty, there was no hot water or wifi functioning, the toilet stopped flushing, and when I tried to find a manager, no one was helpful. This hotel should be condemned. DO NOT STAY HERE, LET ALONE PAY TO DO SO. I want a refund!

The property, room, decoration, carpet, bathroom, bed, furniture is to old.

The beds were good, and the sink and toilet worked. Everything else was rusted, peeling, stained or incredibly dirty. Our white socks were black on the bottom after staying one night. We ditched on a 3-night stay after one night. Not at all good if you're traveling with kids.

Stinks

Had a bed and shower, close to the train the station to head downtown.

I requested another room because the first one was disgusting and not safe for my daughter because we had to exit the fire escape hallway to enter the room

It was small and outdated. There is an old television in the room.

- when I got to the room, the door was unlocked and open - bathroom didn’t have enough towels for 2 guests, as the room was booked. We called the front desk to request a towel, towel was ever brought. - the carpet floor had a wet spot on the side of the bed. Looked like someone puked and it was not clean by the hotel - Elevator was smelling like a frightening elevator to transport trash between floors - I could not access the internet through my tablet and the signal was very low on my phone. When I called front desk, he informs that it’s more compatible with phones. What’s the point to use phones and not tablets/laptops if you are staying for business trip? If I knew that refund was possible, I would have left the location. Unfortunately nothing would change on that night. Disappointed I wouldn’t like this review to be published, but it would be nice to address it to the department in charge to make improvements.

The tube had rust in it, the floors and provided towels were dirty.

This was such a disappointment. Wallpaper was pealing and falling off. Holes in the walls Furniture was old and shabby!! Bathroom had plaster falling off the walls. There was mold on the walls. Tub was painted and pealing. Flaked off whenever the water was turned on. Water would not stay a constant temp. Scalding to freezing. Upon checking in, I got two towels. No wash clothes, or floor mats. No wi-fi signal. No cable(except local news). The plumbing was awful. It was nothing like what was represented on your site. Absolutely should look into this. Bad for Orbitz

There was a really nice man whose job was to answer questions and he looked as if he could work security too...He told me he was originally from Georgia and ironically that is where I reside. He knew a lot about NY and took a lot of the guess work out of setting my timeline while I was there... He asked me if I liked my room and I am a really honest woman, so I had to tell him the room was dusty, a few roach bugs. The heat ould not be adjudted so had to use the A/C window unit to keep the room at 68. I had plent of hot water fot showers it was quiet at night... No fridge or microwave

The place is a dump. For $300 per night expected much more

The lady at front desk from 3-11 shift was a angel. My room was great and very accommodating !!!

It is a very old hotel but has been maintained well and the amenities are better than most. Some of the decorations from the past are quite interesting.

For the price I was expecting something more up to date. At the very least, I wa hoping more amenities would be included. The room was old with rusted furniture, the fitness center was just a treadmill, and the wifi wasn't even working in my room. The staff was okay for the most part, but about half the front desk employees were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. I stayed in roughly 4 other places in New York and felt that the days Hotel was vastly overpriced in comparison. Not only that, but the service was absolutely abysmal
