Came for daughter’s 12th birthday to NYC and the Riu was a perfect place to stay. Close to everything. Hotel was clean and modern. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. They left her a little note and a box of chocolates on her actual birthday, which she loved. Breakfast buffet was included with our stay and was actually a nice hotel breakfast (much better than other chain hotels). Stayed on the 23rd floor so our views were amazing. Room as a good size and we slept well. They did not have blackout curtains, so if you keep that in mind if you need it really dark to sleep. Street noise was barely noticeable for us. We will definitely stay at the Riu again.

Close to many places to see

Good

Very close to Times Square, clean, and stylish decor.

Very low class property dressed up to be made to look nice. Very cold and unwelcoming. Staff is unaccommodating. Didn't even give us new water bottles like the sign said on the tiny dorm room refrigerator stuck randomly in the corner of the even tinier room

Fantastic hotel great location. Great stuff very clean.

Loved the location….

We really loved the hotel. They offer excellent services, they are very well organized at breakfast time and very clean. If in the future I return to New York, I would not hesitate to return. In addition, there are many employees who speak Spanish, my official language.

Small rooms but clean, modern and efficient, Super close to Times Square. Included a breakfast. Surprisingly good value for downtown New York.

Our stay on this hotel was amazing thank you guys for awesome service, the best part is the location we feel safe walking to Time Square at any time definable this will be our hotel when we go back to New York Thank you 🙏

I enjoyed staying here because it was close to time square, and you have tons of places to eat within walking distance. The only thing I truly dislike about this place is that there is no parking for the people staying there. They work with a parking garage a few blocks away but it’s still a hassle when you have luggage. But I guess that’s New York…

Excellent location

Rooms are extremely small with zero walking space or room for luggage, to the point that the pullout sofa cannot be even opened without scraping paint off the adjacent desk and refrigerator. Because of a design flaw, plumbing on the 6th floor was terrible and unrepairable, needing to run both sinks for 15 minutes to get anything other than hot water. Even the toilet water was steaming. $45 'Resort Fee' and the need to pay additionally per guest for 'Free Breakfast' was also a surprise.

Love this hotel BUT there are a couple of things you need to know before staying here. First, there is a little box on the wall inside the door of your room. Insert your key card down into the slot to make the electricity in your room work. When you leave your room, remove your card and it all goes dark, including the outlets, so don’t plan on charging anything while you’re away. Second, the bathroom walls are made of frosted glass. So, if you’re traveling with someone you aren’t intimate with, it could something to consider. Last, they give you one bed for 2 people and 2 beds for 3 people. People checking in seemed surprised to learn that they only get 1 bed. This is a great hotel for a couple. Very clean and up to date with great views.

Location is good. but they don't offer a parking. Not even paid parking. you have to find it yourself. The hotel is located on a small one way street. And that street is closed Fri and Sat PM. So if you are going there with your car and arriving around 6 PM, the street is closed and you have no car access to the hotel. You have to walk with your luggage. Paid parking is available within couple block but you have to take your car there yourself, which is very inconvenient Rooms are very small and tight. Much smaller then average standard hotel room. For that much money you would expect something bigger and more convenient. Very disappointed and will not stay at this hotel again

I liked the location of the hotel. It was very clean. My room didn’t have hand soap the dispenser was empty . The breakfast was ok. The orange juice tasted horrible .

Clean area. Didn’t get a lot for the price I was paying.
