Hotel was in a convenient area, however, there is a night club on the corner and can get loud at night with people on the street. You have a limited view of the Empire State Building, just wish the windows were cleaner. The room was clean and the bed was good to sleep in. The hallways are small, would recommend for a quick trip, couples or friends trip. Wouldn't recommend for families because of the small spaces. Staff was excellent though. Very Friendly and helpful.

Clasic building well located. Friendly staff.

Clean, comfortable and helpful/friendly staff . Thanks ! I will be back next time I’m in NYC

The location was perfect, our room always a 2 room suite with a nice view of the Empire State Building. The bathroom was pretty tight, but real estate is a premium which I get.

Room was clean but very small. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was amazing. Breakfast was very good with a large variety.

It was an old property which was pretty neat. The rooms were smaller but just fine. We paid $220 per night so we could have our own private bathroom and that was a "Wife" requirement. Breakfast was ok; the usual stuff. Some people were surprised that we could find a hotel for that price in New York. We would stay there again; no problem!

Clean and close to attractions. Quality service and nice employees.

Some of the staff were great and some were just plain awful. We asked for assistance with taxis and or a car service and they down right refused to help and said to go to the corner to hail a cab and wouldn’t call a car service or give us a number to call. The elevators are ridiculously slow. Plan on waiting between 5-10 minutes.

Location, price, size just right, amenities, polite staff.

Rooms were small but . 3 blocks from two different subway stops. Breakfast was much better than I expected. Definitely a bargain for this locatio

very nice hotel, excellent location, comfortable and affordable

Very spartan - really nothing more than a plain room to sleep in. No carpet in the room, just a bumpy, warped linoleum floor. Small fridge that wasn't very cool. Not too many outlets that were easy to get to for charging cell phones. Limited number of channels on the TV. NO cell reception in the room at all. Wi-Fi was not stable - tried connecting to the two SSIDs for our floor as well as the lobby SSID, but the connection dropped frequently. Bathroom was small, but adequate. Not sure why they left so much empty unused space in the room rather than building out the bathroom a little more.

The AC wasn’t working. It was working then turned off. I wouldn’t come back again

Nice hotel in city center. Clean and accommodating. Solid 3.5 to 4 star hotel for city. Frequented mostly by tourists. Hotel staff was friendly and room was immaculately clean.

So we booked this hotel last minute as we were exploring the city and it was getting late and we were too tired to take the train back to NJ. As we ate dinner inat Eately we wanted a place near the flatiron district and booking a last minute hotel on a Saturday night left a few choices. This was really the only option within a reasonable distance of where we were. The location was great. The check in process was painless. The room was tiny. It barely fit the 2 double beds. What can you expect I guess for NYC. The bathroom was small but clean. The lighting in the room was terrible however. There were 2 lights and the bulbs were super bright so it felt like a hospital room. TV was fine and there was a mini fridge. The free morning continental breakfast was not terrible although the scrambled eggs were horrific (tasted like they added water to the egg mix). The best thing were the make your own Belgian waffles. We ended up eating at donut plant a few blocks from there. All in all it served its purpose. Probably won't be going back though.

excellent location! close to shopping and subway stations very small rooms

Arrived in the hotel and pulled back a cover and there it was, a bed bug crawling in the sheets. We informed the front desk staff members and they immediately were defensive and asked to be shown the room. (Even after bringing the actual bug down to show them) So we go back to the room to look for more, which we didn't find anymore but then we flipped a mattress and there was a dead bug lying there. The staff members were very unpleasant and did not resolve this matter. They suggested that we continue to stay the night and let them know if we see more. After hours of going back and forth, the management finally agreed to give us a new room. Ended up wasting time and money staying here and will definitely not return or recommend to others!!!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your recent stay with us. I am delighted that you to enjoyed so many aspects of your experiences with us including our incredible location, and especially the service that you receive for the team. We try to create an atmosphere to allow our guests to feel at “home away from home”. We are indeed so fortunate to have such a caring and talented team and we could not agree more that they are by far our biggest asset here at The Heritage Hotel. It's was pleasing to read about high standard of cleanliness of the rooms. Our housekeeping team do a fantastic job of keeping the place in tip top shape. I know our Executive Housekeeper will enjoy reading your comments and sharing them with her team too. However, I was sorry to read that you were disappointed with the size of your allocated guest room. Actually we do have much bigger rooms. Like many hotels in New York, space can be a luxury. However, we have eight different room categories available. I know our reception team would have been delighted to show you some alternative rooms. Our rooms vary in size. We have small rooms with two twin size beds up to large family suites. All rooms are well appointed. The prices of the rooms vary by size. The family suites consists of two adjoining rooms, with a King size bed and two Double beds - our guests rave about our comfortable King size beds. We also have a large room with two double beds room and a sofa. The suites and the large double rooms with sofa are big for New York. Indeed the newer hotels in New York have smaller rooms as real estate in NY is expensive. I'm confident we would have been able to find a room that suited to your preferences. Whenever you decide to come back, the Staff and I will be honored to welcome you back. Yours Sincerely, Zahid, General Manager

To read " we would stay there again” is the ultimate accolade for me as an hotelier. This is exactly the type of experience we strive to create for each and every guest ! It sounds like you left with some wonderful memories and that makes me feel very satisfied. The Heritage Hotel is a turn-of-the 20th century vintage hotel. We are a popular choice with many international visitors, who appreciate our classical décor and intimacy of our building. We are frequently complimented on the hotel's gorgeous façade. This hotel has a unique personality with a history going back a hundred years. Miss World contestants have stayed here. We have had many TV shows and movies filmed including NYPD Blues and The Following. Our guests just love our exceptional location. Our prime location means we are a short stroll from New York’s best restaurants and bars, as well as shopping on Fifth Avenue. Our neighborhood is a magnificent representation of the best of New York’s vibrant culture, and we are humbled to be a part of it. The hotel is conveniently near the corner of Broadway and Fifth Ave. We have some of the best attractions, shopping and restaurants in New York. The hotel is well located for access to 23 St Subway, Fifth Ave, Madison Square Park, Flatiron Building, Empire State Building and The Met Life Building, Times Square is five minutes from us by subway; Empire State Building is five minute walk from us. The World Trade Center is 15 minutes by subway. Some of the best restaurants in the USA are a short stroll away. 11 Madison Park is the fifth highest rated restaurant in the world. Restaurants like Eataly, Mexicana, Hill Country Barbecue, 230 Fifth Ave are a minutes’ walk from us. We also have a filling buffet breakfast. It also includes hot items like scrambled eggs and sausage. Make your own Belgian Waffles. We have muffins, bagels, bread, fruit juices, tea, and freshly brewed coffee. We also have healthy items such cereals, oats, fresh fruits. Also our breakfast is complimentary. This is a big saving as breakfast can cost $10-15 in Manhattan. My only wish is that I personally get the opportunity to welcome you back to your new 'home away from home' in the not too distant future. It would be a great honor to have you stay with us again. Yours Sincerely Zahid, General Manager

I am most appreciative for the time taken to review The Heritage Hotel. It was an honor to have you stay with us. The pleasure of your company was ours. It is location, location, location! Our location is the most highly rated in New York. Many places of interest are within a short walk of our entrance. With the 23St Subway and a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes at our doorstep our location is second to none. We are walking distance from the New York Life Building, Empire State Building, Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park. There are many stores close by. Like Macys for clothes and Best Buy for electronics. Also there are many boutique stores on Fifth avenue. Moreover, we are 5 min by subway from Times Square and 10-15 min ride from World Trade Center Memorial, Wall Street, and Central Park. We have world famous restaurants like Eataly, La Pecora Bianca and 11 Madison Park. Also we have a wealth of celebrity chefs: Jean- Jean-Paul Bourgeois at Blue Smoke, Francis Derby at The Cannibal, Simone Bonelli at La Pecora Bianca, Fitz Tallon at Eleven Madison Park. We provide an American style continental breakfast with a wide selection. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am so incredibly sorry to read about your experience. We get many wonderful comments from our guests, which make it all the more heartbreaking to read about your experience. Please accept my deepest apologies. I apologize profusely for your experience regarding taxi service. New York has a yellow cab service but there is no main telephone. Therefore, we cannot phone a yellow cab. Unfortunately, yellow cabs must be flagged down on the street. I am very sorry that we did not explain this clearly to you. Regarding car service we can for sure call a cab for you. Frequently there can be a quite delay because of traffic because of NY traffic. I am sure this was a failure in communication on our part. Please accept my apologies if we appeared rude. I am sure it was unintentional. I have already discussed your comments with my team. Rest assured, your feedback is very important to us as we are very much concerned with the satisfaction of our guests. I appreciate you sharing your comments, as this is the only way to learn and improve as a hotel. When you have some spare time, please kindly call me at the hotel to discuss your stay. Yours most apologetically Zahid, General Manager
