Nice accommodations. The room was comfortable. The communication and check in was all good, different, but good. The staff was helpful enough. The restaurant was great! Enjoyed a fantastic meal.

Staff is amazing, room was great. The restuarant is also exceptional. Easy walking to Frenchmen St, neighborhood is friendly as well.

This hotel was perfect for our trip: Close to the French Quarter, lots of great little eateries and coffee around the hotel and the hotel itself has a cute bar and restaurant. The gal that worked the bar (I don[t remember her name, she's got the greatest southern drawl) was incredibly sweet and helpful. The room itself was a great room. Things that need improving: Maybe because we arrived to the room earlier than check-in time, the room was not the cleanest (however, they did tell us the room was ready for us). A garment was left in the room, dining table wasn't too clean, floors needed cleaning. Also, a member of the hotel staff walked in the room without knocking which was slightly worrisome. She didn't realize that someone had already checked in. Again, maybe it was because we were early and there was poor communication about the room itself within the staff. Also, when we went to check in, there was no explanation about the hotel and it's amenities (like coffee, back door access, restaurant, if we needed anything etc). They gave us the code to the door and sent us on our way. The next day, though, the owner of the place was walking around and caught us as we were leaving and asked if we needed anything and then gave us a mini tour, which was nice. The room's blinds would not come down all the way (sorry to anyone who walked by) and it was cold (as far as I know, there was no heater). Other than that, great place to stay!

Place was great! Easy to check-in; we were able to leave our things with them before check-in and after check-out. Location is right on the edge of the French Quarter and very walkable. Owners professional and hospitable. Room was pretty spacious and had great balcony; floors could've been swept a little more, but pretty clean for the most part. Great to have the fridge and microwave in the room, and keyless entry is fantastic. Wish we could have checked out the restaurant more!

Third time I've stayed here in the last three years. Off the beaten path of the French Quarter in the charming Bywater/Marigny district. Close to Frenchmen St. and right off the main vein of Royal, you're only a few blocks from the French Market and within walking distance of Bourbon St., Jackson Square and more. The hotel is in a quiet suburb, so if you want to be loud and rowdy, this isn't your place. The staff is always friendly and Silk Road attached is a wonderful bar and restaurant that serves up a great bloody mary! Explore the neighborhood here - lots of great food and dive bars all around. Highly recommended and stays booked up at peak times, so if festivals, Mardi Gras, etc. are happening, you'll probably have to check elsewhere, or reserve way in advance. Easily my fave hotel and area of NOla.

Nice B&B for the price. Great location. The room felt very private. Comforter needed to be cleaned. Staff was very nice.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Balcony Guest House. We arrived around 1:30 and decided to eat lunch in the attached restaurant before checking in, the food was fantastic and we were able to check in early. The room was very nice, we both loved the New Orleans home vibe. This was our second stay in NOLA and I would chose this over a hotel any day. Room was clean, bathroom was decent sized. We were in guestroom #9 which has a kitchen area, nice touch but we never used it because I didn't come to New Orleans to cook dinner. Wi-Fi was iffy but that hardly mattered to us. Breakfast was cereal, muffins, yogurt and granola bars... In my opinion, they could offer something a little better. The only thing that really bothered me was the lack of balcony that our room had, there was an enclosed, back patio, but I was really looking forward to a balcony, in the description of the room I booked, there was no mention of there not being a balcony so next time I will make sure I have a room with one. Location was perfect for us, a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter and a 10 minute walk to Frenchmen St. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

I enjoy quirky experiences and not the "run of the mill" offering of a chain. This is right up my alley. I am not a travel writer or hotel inspector or a breakfast snob... And I enjoyed this place a lot!

The Marigny neighborhood is a quiet place w/ some local bars and coffee shops near by. Frenchmen St. is a 10 minute walk, Bourbon is 20 or so. The hotel room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I would stay here again.
