It was a great place to stay wish I could have stayed longer and hiked some but maybe next time. Clean and staff was very helpful.

Nice property in beautiful setting with friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was good. My only complaint is that the internet had been out in rooms (for a couple of weeks) and I had to go to the lobby (with face mask on) to get work done.

The resort is in a beautiful state park. It's a great place to stay if you're going to hike the trails or visit the caves. This was our second visit. The restaurant has good food. The staff is friendly... There was no hair drier in our room. There was something attached to the wall like there used to be one. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but the sheets and pillows were comfortable.

Needed to have a small refrigerator Other than that it was great

We had requested queen size bed, instead had 2 single beds. there are NO refrigerators or microwaves in rooms. the dinner menu while not over priced was very poor quality. lighting in room as very dim, the door leading to the porch wouldn't close properly, needed to have key fobs redone three times during our stay. there were 4 pillows on each bed when we arrived. when we left for the day I put the DO NOT DISTURB sigh on the door, when we returned 4 of the pillows were missing, so they apparently ignored the do not disturb sign and entered the run anyway. The park itself was very beautiful. We went horseback riding , the poor horses were constantly stopping to eat grass, acting as if they were starving. the riding trail was very muddy, and rock covered, and the horses struggled to maintain their footing. there is a sign at the stable stating that the weight limit of the riders can not exceed 285 lbs, a huge woman that my wife and I both agreed topped 350 lbs was allowed to ride, and the horse she was given was a small horse. WILL never return to that park for any reason.

You could hear the footsteps and conversation of the guest in the room above is. WiFi nearly non-existent connectivity. Beautiful location.

The setting and unspoiled nature. The restaurant was good and the prices were reasonable.

Room was clean and had been recently updated. TV reception was horrible and you need a coupon code to get WiFi. Bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Balcony was nice, but less than private, and chairs could use a cushion, as they are just wood and not very comfortable. But we were there for the caves so it definitely served the purpose.

Room was dated. TV had very bad reception on most channels. Wi-Fi was very weak. Staff were friendly. On site restaurant was fine.

We were well taken care of by the restaurant staff.

Carter Caves is a beautiful state park with lots of fun hikes and cave exploration. The staff at the resort are extremely friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to get such a lovely room (with balcony) at such a low cost!

Inviting in wood setting with private balcony facing the woods. A lot of wildlife around. The cave tours were fun.

This was for only 1 night when traveling off-season, but I'd come back to spend a few days during normal season. Staff were nice, and I loved the mountain / forest / caves environment, and looking out the back porch at the forest. But room was not very clean, and there were crackers from a previous guest under a chair at the table, which shows that they did not bother to move the chairs when vacuuming the room.

All was well with hotel. But when we arrived Orbtiz had failed to send in our reservation to the hotel. Fortunately we brought the e-mail sent by Orbtiz with prices and the hotel honored them and had a room available for us. One downside was that they only had rooms with two double beds, we had reserved Queen size bed, but none were available, but it was alright.

It was great being able to stay in the park the hotel was a little outdated but it was still comfortable to stay in. Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room

Traveling to visit family in Eastern Kentucky last weekend. We thought we would make a mini vacation out of our trip. While searching for hotels close to our destination, Carter Caves State Park was an option. We do a lot of trail riding with our horses and wanted to check out the Horse Camp at Carter Caves. Also, all of Kentucky State Parks are pet friendly. They charged much less than pet friendly hotels charge for pet. Orbitz was able to get an awesome rate on the room.

Thank you for your post. We understand and respect your opinions. Sorry your expectations were not met. We will use your info to do better. As for the horse experience. That is a concessionaire ran establishment. The trail was very muddy due to the fact we have experienced a lot of rain here lately. As for the weight of the individual that is their decision on what to allow or not.

Thank You for your input. Our lodge is 50 years old and we try our best to keep up but the wifi and TV I agree need to be updated.
