Their website talks a lot about fishing, but the staff has no idea about what to catch, where to catch it, or how to catch it.

A little ways from Seward. Bathroom small. Beds comfortable. Beds clean. Small shower. Old but very functional and pretty clean.

The location can’t be beat! You are right next to the little lake. Inside the lobby/restaurant there is a pool table that we enjoyed. The rooms are very basic. A couple channels but you aren’t going to watch tv with scenery like that. The beds were comfortable. Remember if you are going in summer to bring an eye mask and ear plugs are helpful because the rooms next door are old and make a lot of noise.

Great location doing anything in the Kenai Peninsula, close to where the intersection of heading to Homer or Seward is. Wonderful views! Owners were very cooperative and accommodating to our needs and late check in. Everyone was friendly and wonderful. While it was before season and still affected by COVID restrictions so we didn’t get the full benefit of things like the restaurant, it did work well for our needs of spending a couple days in Seward before heading to Girdwood. More than ample and close parking along with very spacious room, would be more than happy to stay again in future.

It is near some amazing views. The room was clean. The owner and staff were friendly! It is a great place to stay the night as there is a bar and restaurant below.

Trail Lake Lodge is a good old fashioned spot. The owner and staff were very hospitable and accommodating. They treated us like family and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stop on the way to Seward or locals who want to escape the city for a minute.

Nice location, with a very good restaurant. But the shower space is very tight. The shower curtain is constantly disturbing you in a bath.

Okay for what you get but the staff aren't that great and the showers are tiny.

Just stay somewhere else. Seriously. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews like I was. This is by no means a "lodge." It's a low-quality motel, on par with Motel 6 but less clean and twice the price. It's right on the main highway, and looks out on a parking lot. The location isn't convenient to anything - it's a lot further from Seward and KF National Park than you think. I stood in the entryway for an eternity before anyone paid attention to me or asked if I needed to be checked in. The room was very dated and just felt unclean - especially the awful bathroom and the sheets. I didn't really want to touch anything. They really need to work on their housekeeping. But by far the worst aspect of this place was the NOISE. As mentioned, it's very close to the highway. The walls and door are paper thin and you can hear every vehicle that goes by. Worse, you can hear every conversation that happens outside. The "lodge" rooms are right above the bar / restaurant, and the parking lot is a hive of activity. I did not enjoy people smoking right under my room. Even worse were the the two biker girls who started up their motorcycles and left them running (for no apparent reason) for TEN minutes at ELEVEN at night. Just a complete lack of courtesy. When I stayed here, I had just had an extremely long day that involved a lot of flying, driving and hiking, and I just wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable to relax for the night. What I got was the exact opposite. Go elsewhere.

Room condition is too old. Shower room is very small. The view is wonderful. But there are no coffee maker, no small refrigerator. The dining room on the first floor, but the food and coffee are much high price, and taste is not good.

The hotel is situated on the lake and have amazing vista. The room was small but the bathroom was quite big and clean. Though the room didn't have refrigerator and microwave, but the staff was more than welcome to let us use their restaurant kitchen and microwave. The hotel also has a private deck on the lake for hotel customers. We had an awesome time at the deck having dinner with mountain/lake views. The hotel staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. Will recommend this place to others. Good location, close to Seward downtown(30 mins drive)

low budget motel, overpriced for my opinion one night stay is`ok if need to stay close to Seward restaurant is not bad
