Lovely breakfast, friendly staff, very nice rooms! Hot tub could have been a few degrees warmer but otherwise everything was good!

Very clean, updated room. Had a class reunion at the Mermaid....HOW CONVENIENT. We were very impressed.

Hot breakfast was very nice with very nice attention by the preparer and server.

Managers on duty were great.

The front desk clerk was very polite and welcoming the rooms were very clean and order less I’m overall stay was comfortable and cozy I will definitely be back

Really great staff really clean excellent breakfast a lot of fun the slide in the pool is just enough for someone to get a little extra without paying a lot

Great location, staff was very helpful and friendly.

There was always hot coffee, water, tea, and fruit available in the lobby. It is connected to a restaurant and bowling alley which is great for cold and snowy days when you don’t want to leave the hotel but don’t want to stay in the hotel room all day.

While my stay was ok the hotel and room was sparse. I stayed in a corner room which was very large with nothing in it. It easily could have accommodated a full size desk and two easy chairs. There could have been a TV area with the chairs. The breakfast was ok. They had biscuits and gravy when I was there and I didn't eat it. Stuck with cold cereal and a bagel. The location was great and easy to get on and off the freeway from. The front desk and staff were friendly.

The room was clean and the AC worked well. It was nice having the hotel connected to the Mermaid. I liked the pool was open until 12am for adults.

The room was clean and the location was good. Staff was helpful. A good place to stay for a trip to Minneapolis.

The hotel room was clean and spacious, but this is not a 3 star hotel. The hot water was out for a day and a half. The pool was closed. The breakfast is down a long corridor around a corner and into the bowling alley / bar and it's kind of an afterthought.

The hotel has a great location. Be wary of I 35 traffic at 7:30am however. To go 2.9 miles took us 20 min! The continental breakfast was average and located in the hotel restaurant/bowling alley. I would stay there agian but may not be my firtst choice. It is just plain average.

Room was nice and comfortable. There was construction on hwy 10 which is the entrance to the freeway from the motel making it a little more difficult to get around. Staff was very nice. There was a communication problem between the motel and who I made the reservation thru which was a slight inconvenience at check-in but it was not the motel's fault.

This is a decent hotel. The room was clean, though the carpeting always seemed a bit damp. Housekeeping tidied up and brought new towels and linens, but never washed the in-room coffee pot or restocked the coffee. They also failed to notice that fresh water and coffee cups were needed. The front end staff was very courteous and helpful, as was the lone woman manning the kitchen and dining area for the complementary breakfast. The breakfast itself was one step up from the traditional continental, with scrambled eggs (prepared ahead and kept in a warming bin) and do-it-yourself waffle makers. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself doesn't open until 11, so you do not have the option of ordering off menu if you get sick of scrambled eggs and waffles after day three. The pool is a lovely salt-water system, so no nasty chlorine smell, which was fantastic. It is very small, and only 4.5 feet deep at it's deepest, so don't expect swim lanes; it's more of a splash pool. The water slide is just a big curly slide that ends in the pool, not an amusement ride, though it would probably still be fun for little kids. Overall, it's a decent place to stay if you just need a place to put your head down at the end of the day. If you expect to spend any significant time at the hotel, it probably isn't your best bet. Oh, and disturbingly, nearly every restaurant and shop located nearby happened to be out of business (or keeping really bad hours) during our visit in July of 2012. Obviously, the hotel can't do anything about that, but keep it in mind.

The AmmericInn of Mounds View has a great breakfast buffet(try the make-it-yourself waffles). They had the crib in our room & set-up in no time. The safe in our room did not work. The fitness center & swimming pool/waterslide looked very inviting.
