At check in requested another $50 deposit for possible damage to the room. Room was not made up until 3 in the afternoon.

Beautiful location, excellent staff, pet friendly, good food, and great margaritas.

The view from the verandah of Isla Carmen and channel that separates the peninsula and the island is spectacular and beautiful. And there is a genuine tranquility that emanates from the whole property and the people who work there as servers, or chamber maids, or yard keepers with rakes and brooms and mops. I swam twice in the pool, where there was never another person to disturb the water's surface. Beyond that, I left my IPad behind, being forgetful and stupid, as usual, and when I wrote and asked about it, they promised to send it to me, without even mentioning the cost of mailing. The food and drinks were excellent, as well as was the conversation with a few of the other guests, who were enjoying the place as much my son and I were. One gracious worker gave us the excellent advice of getting Lomitil to cure a touch of Mocteczuma's Revenge that we caught ifroma plate of pulpo in Mulege. I recommend buying an extra supply of such to take with you on any further voyages. The pharamcies in The States require a prescription, which entails an extra visit to Urgent Care or your family physician, something unnecessary in Baja and Mexico proper, good and sensible regulations about drugs that they have. My wife and I have stayed at Hotel Oasis for about a week each of the last eight years. I love the peaceful nature of the location and the staff. I has steadily become like a second home. The ocean view is magnificent.

So handy, close to town, right on the beach, great restaurant. Silly to stay any place else.

Thin walls room hears all noise. wifi not available inside room.

Our last night in Baja, after visiting the friendly whales, we decided to live it up a little and stay at the Oasis. The hotel was comfortable, but certainly not luxurious in any way, and I suppose you could say our room had a view, but it was quite a small window. Overall, I would say it had the feel more of a motel than hotel, and lacked regional charm compared to the other places we stayed in the area.

The hotel is really nice. The rooms are basically furnished but comfortable and clean. The pool is nice, the bar (and barman) as well, breakfast on the beach is magical. Rooms with beach view (and balcony) are perfect to catch the afternoon breeze. The hotel is ideally located, on the beach, at the southern end of the Malecon, within walking distance of everything. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. The price is also totally acceptable. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. Sure, the hotel is 50 years old and the fridges available in the rooms could be replaced. But it is overall really well maintained for its age and, contrary to what I had read, the mattress was perfectly comfortable. Maybe it depends on the rooms. I would recommend it without any hesitation and would return there if I went back to Loreto.

I reserved space 7 months in advance and checked back in 2+ weeks in advance of stay to update the number of persons in the room. I was told the extra charge would be $15 per night. When I arrived the clerk wanted $44 per night. I finally got a price of $22 per night for the 3rd person. Then they changed the room configuration from two doubles to three twins located right next to the bar with a live band that kept us awake until after midnight. Gratefully they moved us the next day after we complained. All of these negotiations were a hassel and contributed to the dimishment of our enjoyment of the stay.

I reserved my stay 7 months in advance and 18 days before arrival I checked in to confirm and add an additional person to the room. I was told the fee for the extra person was $15 per night. 48 hours prior to the stay before leaving the US I had called to confirm that all was set. The Hotel would not acknowledge my reservation! After hours of back and forth over a period of two days I finally got my reservation honored for an additonal cost of $44 per night for the extra person, while others in my group were charged $22 per night for a third person. This place badly needs to get its act together. Otherwise the service was pretty good. A nice restaurant and bar and sea side location which was lovely. I would recommend this Motel to others with the caveat that you are cautious about checking on the reservation well ahead of time.

The Hotel Oasis has a very friendly staff, always willing to help with a smile. The location is great, and it is much quieter as it is off the town center by a few blocks. The hammocks provided a great refuge after a day in the sun.
