Clean, everything was clean. Nice room, much better than described by internet reviews. Very pretty grounds. Nice pool, right on the beach. Nice beach area. Safe areas to swim, surf, boogie board etc. Very large and well equipped exercise room. Very Smooth check in at the front with the baggage area.

Where to begin...I had reserved a room which would supposedly comprised with a "queen" bed, a living room area and a nice view of the ocean on the 4th floor. The staff were great, they had given us very thorough instructions including the part where the queen bed comes off a wall (?). My husband and I got to our room and to my surprise, the room is very small to begin with, enough for just the living room setting. We had to push the heavy sofa aside to be able to pull out the bed from the wall which gave us no space to walk around! The mattress was so uncomfortable, it was literally uneven to sleep on not to mention the pillows it came with were literally made out of cheap feathers. We did not (and couldn't) get a good night sleep! Oh and did I mention that the AC made such a loud noise that we couldn't hear the ocean or the TV! It was as though we had reserved a 1-star hotel on a busy NYC street! I had contacted the concierge as early as 6am the next day about our horrible first night experience, and the lady I spoke with offered to install a cardboard underneath our bed and have their engineers work on our AC. I asked for the manager to come up to our room to be able to see the actual problem. The lady said the manager doesn't come to work till 8am so I asked if the manager could call me as soon as he/she arrives. Did I get the phone call? No. They went to our room w/out our consent & installed the sofa frame under the bed frame! No engineers came. We left 2 days early.

The recent changeover to Royal Sonesta was confusing for guests and for employees. No room charges were allowed for Marriott guests and they didn't know when that might happen. That being said, the resort was wonderful and so was the staff. I would stay again once they decide who they are going to be...

Property and pool was great for the EMQ program which is ending 4/5/21 but one thing to note sonesta and marriot decided to split as business entities last week so you could no longer do things like charge poolside food to your room if you staying in marriot Kauai beach club side vs you could if u in sonesta and that point wasn’t made clear upon checkin time so it was very inconvenient when you’re swimming in pool all wet with credit card & wallet back in room and you are informed of this after u already place food order

The staff was awesome! We felt cared for and recognized as individuals.

Beautiful resort with a perfect, private beach! Pool area is stunning!

Beautiful hotel, staff super friendly. Nice, clean and quiet hotel room.

Sandy beach, sparkling clean pool, friendly staff, good restaurants. Hotel maintained Marriott standards. Negs: beach umbrellas gone, nowadays you need to rent.

The front desk lady was amazing! She accommodated us and felt very welcomed.

This has a great little beach about 1/3 mile long. Beautiful pool and nice amenities.

I was here once before when it was just the Kauai Surf. It has not lost its magic nor its plush surroundings and appeal. Kauai is paradise and this Marriott Hotel just adds to that.To me it is the only place to stay while in Kauai.

relaxing, calm, very helpful, friendly staff. The view from our hospital room, the beach, the friendly staff, the welcoming environment. The beautiful roosters around the hospital. The fresh water at the entrance.

"Vacation Club was sub-par. The room was awful! It needs a complete renovation! The front desk personnel did not communicate key details about the hotel rules which made for miserable experience and stress. The "Resort"side was quite nice, however.

The hotel is its own village with 5-6 buildings and shops. It's about 15 min walk (great walk) to the Kala** some street where there are many shops and restaurants. Beach access is great. Pool can be a bit better.

Mahalo for your comments. We will not be changing over to Sonesta, we remain the Kauai Beach Club run by Marriott Vacations Worldwide but sharing the property with Sonesta will not change. We are working to better the amenities and room charging but that will take time to iron out.
