Beautiful property!

It was a beautiful hotel, Victorian feel inside and great menu from the restaurant on site. Many options for the family to choose from.

I know its the north woods in morning i went out srart my car you had ice i slipped right outside registration desk im not suing type however with the weasel lawyers yiu might want to throw some ice melt i t was slippery other than that fine stay

This was our first time traveling with our cats, so we weren't sure what to expect. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the pet experience was painless and without surprise/hidden fees. The facility is quite nice, with a great restaurant and very nice pool and fitness area. Other areas did show some signs of deferred maintenance, especially in the stair wells, but nothing that interfered with our experience. The air conditioner units seemed to have some ingrained dust in them and bothered my partner's allergies. Fortunately, we had brought an air purifier with us, which helped mitigate the problem. Overall we had a good experience, though it may be about time for the hotel to refurbish the air conditioning in the rooms. We would definitely consider visiting here again if our travels take us through the area.

I liked that breakfast was free on Friday morning but was very disappointed in the fact that breakfast cost 12.95 on Saturday and 13.95 on Sunday mornings. The hotel price jumped $50+ on both Friday & Saturday nights but the room didn’t change. Seems ridiculous to charge for breakfast for hotel guests. The hotel was worth the price on Thursday but not on Friday or Saturday night.

Service was very good and the staff was very friendly.

Excellent staff professional but also very friendly. A very nice dinner in the restaurant.

My family and I had a very nice stay . The on site restaurant was a plus . Also pet friendly . The only negatives were at registration I had a double hold put on my CC , which is a pain . Also the pet friendly rooms are near a little dog park area , but you can not go out the side door . You have to walk back to the main lobby to go out the door to walk back to where you came from . A little odd , but workable . Great staff , good food and a great time . D

Very comfortable bed. Clean room. Nice area. Fr

Disgusting brown water meant I couldn't not take a shower. They gave me a couple small bottles of water so I could brush my teeth and tried to move me to another room but the entire hotel was affected. I spoke to Holly who said she would personally relay my message to the manager who was there that night. I also left a voicemail for her asking for her to return my call and asked again when I checked out the next morning. I never heard back. When you check into a hotel, I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to take a shower. Things happen and I am reasonable but I should have AT THE VERY LEAST, received a return call.

Don't stay at this hotel. I was kept up all night by drunks in the hallway and by the tv and snoring of the guy in the next room. The doors and walls are paper thin. It was so loud the guy in the next room might as well have been in bed with me.

Was pleasantly surprised with all aspects of The Colonial. Large room, excellent fitness facility, nice outdoor surroundings and The Grille is a great place to eat and hang out. This was a great find!

I stay at the colonial at least once a month. The food is good, The room is nice and clean. I would stay here again.

We had not stayed here for several years. Found the front desk staff more friendly and helpful than previously experienced. Reorganized dining room much of an improvement, food very good , and service delightful. As we have family in the area, we used to stay at the Colonial frequently but the management and staff became less welcoming and helpful and were much more focused on their weddings and other events then on the individual traveler so we decided to find an alternative. Pleasant surprise. We will try again soon.

5 stars is something I do not think I have ever done before. This hotel is a gem! The lobby is remodeled and classically furnished. The rooms are remodeled and very comfortable. Lots of plugs which is always a plus. As all the reviews state the food in the restaurant is great. The choice is vast. I had the Mediterranean chicken, amazing. My wife had the asparagus salad which she said was the best she has ever had. My son had the ceaser wrap also great. The gym is also top rate. It's clean and has over 5 machines. There are also free weights,2 tabs, a stereo and a weight machine. There also is an indoor pool and jacuzzi! The only thing I could suggest would be more 'adult' cereals and possibly yogurt for breakfast. You can't go wrong here. It's truly an excellent hotel and value.

Thank you for your feedback! We love hearing from our guests. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of our complimentary weekday breakfast. I understand your frustration with the increase of price for the weekend on both your room and the breakfast. Our weekend breakfast has more offerings that the weekday breakfast and we have to accommodate a greater number of diners, which also means more staff is needed. Our rates do increase during our peak business times. Our hotel is more a leisure destination so our prices tend to increase on weekends and during our busy times of year. I encourage you to check back with us often as there are many times of the year you can get a great deal on a stay with us. I hope that we will see you again.
