Needs some attention

Only complaint is that the pillows on the bed were flat and small

The hotel was fine, but there was a lot of chaos with the staff...they were hard to find, didn’t enforce mask and social distancing guidelines in public areas, lectured us about not reporting that we had a dog (even though we told them at check-in and they had already charged us a large pet fee)...generally they seemed overwhelmed. But the facilities were great.

We made our reservation through orbitz paying extra for the buffet option but because of Covid the hotel was not offering this option and would Not refund us that portion of our money because we booked through orbitz. Although the hotel and rooms were clean the bathtub was shedding the bath mat non skid mat and the water pressure was not great. The beds were hard and not comfortable. No fan in bathroom and AC was not working adequately. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. Luckily we only stayed one night.

This property did not have hand sanitizer; nor did it have Tylenol or Sprite or any soda in its little convenience store. Even tho it advertised breakfast bags, none were available and the elevator was dirty.. finger prints all over the meyal walls and carpet was dirty in the evening and still the same morning. I was given “Covid situation” as the excuse but other Hilton and Marriott Properties are able to provide clean conditions; and items are stocked in their convenience stores in Independence during this unusual pandemic situation. I never make comments but this Hilton Garden Inn was unexceptable.

Great place, we stay here every time we are in Independence!

Our room was not assigned correctly. Someone else was occupying our room. This was corrected promptly.

Breakfast is pretty goo. Made to order foods. Does not come with all reservations additional cost of $8pp

Didn’t have my room and downgraded me from room I paid for, didn’t seem to care at all.

Although my room was not ready when I arrived at the 3pm check in time, the staff was very friendly and quickly cleaned the room to guarantee I could set my stuff inside.

Nice hotel and location for the stadiums etc. our only issue was we checked in at 5:00 on Friday and no King rooms were ready. The man assisting me was great. We also talked about 2 different reservations (added Friday night) making sure we could have the same room for Sat-it was “no problem”. Sat morning we left our room for breakfast and couldn’t get back in our room. We were told we were due to check out. I had my confirmation from Orbitz - and it didn’t matter. I called Orbitz and they took it from there. Thank goodness for the professionalism of Orbitz or we may have not had a room in a sold out hotel due to the Kenny Chesney concert. Wasn’t impressed with the front desk at that point. Felt as though we could have been compensated with a discount ted room or something?

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. One of our rooms was missing a shower curtain. Both rooms AC had problems and didn’t work well. I’ve always like Hilton Garden Inn after they had their makeovers years ago. However, this particular one is in need of updates galore. The rooms were def not worth $150/night. Bed was lumpy. Room was dusty and the bathtub showers were poor in pressure and the tub wasn’t well maintained. It took the water a good 30 mins to drain. The room needed repainting and a good cleaning. The breakfast was lack luster in its setup. I was not unhappy with the service so this review isn’t vendicitve.

The lobby and hallways smelled like sewage. We stayed two nights and there was no service of our room, no new towels etc. It is nice the workout room and pool are adacent so I could workout and monitor my kids swimming, but it was 80 degrees in the workout room. This is basically a motel 6, that's it. Not sure why they charge as if they are a decent hotel because it is not.

2nd time to stay at this hotel and it still is a good place to stay

Even though it is "Hilton" was very disappointed in the room presentation, the beds sunk in the middle, the phones did not work to the front desk(almost like it was for display ONLY), the hot water heater even went out on everyone in the hotel! Not a good look! Would definitely NOT recommend.
