Excellent throughout, the staff was super friendly with a standard of high efficiency. The only positive improvement suggestion would be in each room some sort of information booklet advertising the excellent amenities offered at Ameristar.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary. Our $suite$ was beautiful, but the fireplace broke the first night. That was a bummer cause it was a big selling point. The buffet was closed, which I could understand because of Covid. But then across the street @ lodge their buffet was open and they actually had more amenities when ameriatar was supposed to be the top dog. What I had been looking forward to for months was our “fancy dinner” at Timberline. I was so bummed at how disappointing the food was. The service was alright but we spent $200 for so-so food for a couple that doesn’t even drink alcohol. Oh well. We had fun because slot machines, but I would not spend the $$$$ on ameristar next time.

This hotel has gone down hill over the years. The front desk staff are extremely unprofessional. Since when do they just pretend you’re not standing there for 20 minutes to check in? Also, timberline grill. What a joke! A steak house that can’t even cook a steak to the correct temperature. Did they pick the servers off the street? Absolutely zero customer service skills. We went to go play some games and before you go down they check your ID. The lady checking our ID asked where I picked my husband from. What? I will never stay at this hotel again! The price of the room per night is ridiculous. They advertise that they have one restaurant open until 4am and it’s not. Nothing is updated at all! There were stains on the ceiling of our room. Our bathroom floor was sticky! All around a bad stay.

Starting with what was good: The room was clean but could have more drawers for putting clothes that can't be hung up. The shower and tub were spacious. The food options were not very good. Never book during the week as the Continental Buffet(which has not been a buffet for 2 years) stations are only open 4 days a week. The Fireside Grill is 1 start at best. And during the week, there is only 1 $15 Blackjack table. All the rest are $25. Will try another hotel on next trip

Everyone on the casino floor was friendly but the lady that checked us in was not friendly and slow.

the first 5 floors of the parking garage where closed and i am disabled so it was real difficult to find a close parking spot. next the hotel check in was a long walk even for an abled body person. only half of the elevators where down so on a 35 story building it took FOREVER to get to your room. the when you finally make it to the casino the upper floors cashier and club member staion was closed so if you needed a new card or cash to you had to go down stairs all the way in the back of the casino and wait another 30 to 45 mins just to get to the counter. and all the escalators where broke going up and down and if you needed the elevator you had to wait until someone with a key would unlock it so you could get to the bottom floor, and lastly the buffet is still closed, the Monarch casino buffet was open i guess i should have stayed there all new hotel and food the reason i stayed at the Ameristar was i spent my honeymoon there almost 10 years ago it it was really nice then.

The property was indeed beautiful and we had a lot of fun. The buffet was not running and it lowered our options for dinner quite a bit. We only made reservations for one evening. Finding dinner was not easy. The room was clean and comfortable. After setting the air conditioner it cooled down and then through the night kept getting warmer. Daytime stayed cool though. Also, the shower would not hold temperature it kept going from hot to cold.

This place is NOT family friendly. Even though it is a casino hotel, one 1 restaurant in the hotel allowed children. That's pretty ridiculous. No one told us you had to REQUEST housekeeping to come empty the garbage or bring towels and coffee. And even when we did request it, they didn't even show up. We will never be staying here again.

The cleaning ladies were very loud in the hallway

Really old furniature and wasnt clean i have to clean the bath tuve and bathrooms and smell bad to be a 5 start room

The spa was great and the staff was very friendly

Limited food options , unable to contact housekeeping or front desk as no live person available , elevator broken on multiple occasions , amenities like hot tub were not maintained

I purchased the spa suite, the most expensive room, for two nights. It became very obvious that the hotel does everything they can to assure you're in their casino gambling and not staying in the room enjoying some R&R. There are no streaming services, no way to hook up a laptop to the TV, and no movies to rent. Calling the front desk often had me on hold for 20 minutes. There was a light in front of the closet that never turned off and the flip switch did not work. Air conditioning barely worked so the room stayed at 75 degrees for the majority of the time. Every once in awhile AC would kick on. Very disappointing for what was constructed as a pretty nice hotel.

The place was worn, but clean for the most part. They have more staff taking care of the machines than the hallways, elevators or vacant tables where people just leave cups. Hard to cool the room down.
