Bad smell , carpet not perfect clean, the place must be renovated

The worst hotel ever, Mosquitos and flies in the room, no iron or iron board in the room for easy access. Unconfortable beds, old carpet, loud guests, cheap soap, poor drain system in the bathtub. Low security because they left sides/ back doors opened the whole night. Continental breakfast starts at 7am, which is late if you want to beat the traffic. Did I mention Sketchy people around, no thanks never again!

We spent six days at the Red Carpet Inn in Elmwood Park, NJ. We were in NJ to attend a wedding. The building was old but was recently refurbished. The managent was obliging but not friendly. Once in our room we were reasonably comfortable. The maid service was good. The influx of hourly clientels was disturbing to us.

I didn't like the hotel because the beds were absolutely horrible, blankets and mattress, and the wind would blow the room doors into the jam over and over keeping me up all night. On top of this the rooms adjacent were under construction. The service was good though and they tried to help me although there wasn't much they could do to help.

The Red Carpet Inn was a reasonable budget hotel that was on par with expectations. One aspect of the hotel is the location, whilst geographically it was well suited for our purpose, being on a divided highway access and egress was limited, if you would want to eat across the street 100 yards away it was nearly a 2 mile round trip! All in all the hotel was probably better than several other nearby hotels in the same price category we have previously experienced.

This was a perfect hotel for the price. There is a bus stop outside the hotel that takes you straight to New York City for only $4.40. The room was very clean and has a refrigerator. I was very pleased and would love to stay there again.
