Too much chlorine in the pool. No hot water when taking a shower at 0545.

There were nests of bugs in my hotel room, the coffee pot didnt work, there were smoked cigarette butts in a used cup on the balcony, the furniture was stained and looked absolutely disgusting. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and pillows were hard as a rock. The price should have been $40/night, NOT $380/night. The town was sold out of rooms so we couldnt even leave and stay some where else. We will NEVER be back, and will be demanding a refund.

The property is convenient to all the downtown streets in Durango. It's a five minute walk to the D&S Railway station and you can leave your car there while you ride the train or walk downtown. The staff folks were incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were a bit old, the bathroom had a clog which they fixed quickly. The breakfast was good, the pool was ok too- though it was inside the atrium. I think for the condition of the bathroom and the age of the place the rate was bit high.

Very conveniently located and updated property.

Plus side: Walking distance to Durango Station Depot, about 5 minutes walk. Minus side: aside from previous rating, don’t expect extra pillow, this is the second BW that always runs out of pillow, the other one in Albuquerque. Towels are limited for 3 guests even if you’re 4, you need to ask for it same in BW Albuquerque. AC unit is very old.

This was the best hotel we could have chosen for a weekend getaway to Durango. Extremely walkable to a wide variety of shops and restaurants and very close to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Also very close to the Animas River Trail!

We just returned from a trip to Durango where we stayed at the Best Western Rio Grande. We really loved the location, as we were able to walk to the downtown area very easily. We were really happy to have a small balcony to sit on and the location of our room felt private. Josh helped us at the front desk and was really personable and friendly. He was handling a lot of guests at the front as well as training a new colleague at the same time. My husband and I were visiting during for the first time after meeting in Durango 24 years ago! It was so much fun and we really enjoyed our stay at BW Rio Grande. The only two things they could improve on is the breakfast, which seemed like only sugary options (need protein!) and the sink in the bathroom did not drain properly.

Rio Grande Best Western in Durango was clean, well located, had a complimentary happy hour in the evening and a complimentary breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable

Outdated, noisy all night, small bthrm, small room.

It is a great location, sweet balcony, nice room. Getting tired of the covid grab and go style breakfast though.

We've stayed here three times in the past six weeks, but not again. Several other hotels in Durango have started back the free breakfast, not BW. They also haven't started back the evening happy hour. Every restaurant in town has figured out how to serve a drink during covid, not BW. But have they decreased their rates due to the curtailed services, no. Every question was answered with either "can't do that because of covid" or "oh, you made your reservation through a third party, sorry". Too many hotels in Durango to ever stay here again.

Every other hotel had actual breakfast ours chose a grab and go.

Nice property, great location. The grab and go isn’t worth the trip to the lobby, walk a few blocks and get great coffee and food downtown. Parking was close and easy.

Just stayed there for one night. This hotel has great amenities, it is well designed, and made our stay pleasant.

The hot water would run out in the morning leaving luke warm showers. Also, the AC window units do not have the option to keep the fan running while also in heat or cool mode. Keeping the fan on high is very helpful in drowning out the neighbors so I would switch to heat when I woke up cold and turn it back to fan when it cutoff.

Great location in historic downtown. Free bar happy hour every night which Is excellent.

I apologize, I don't know when you stayed with us but we have been serving hot breakfast for 2 weeks now. So next time you can enjoy our eggs and sausage, with some biscuits and gravy, or some waffles! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Durango and look forward to seeing you next time you are in town.
