I loved the old building and how unique the hotel is. The window in one room did not shut and it was very loud.

The Suites does not mention that many rooms do not have windows. The fridge was so loud that it was hard to sleep. The beds were old, squeaky, lumpy, and felt like hammocks, you constantly rolled into the middle. It was such an unpleasant stay. We ended up moving to a different hotel after one night, there was no way we could stay more than that. Also, it wasn’t very clean.

I thought the property was just fine. I love the repurposing of an old building into another use.

Excellent location and very cool rooms. Pull out sofa bed was broken and extremely uncomfortable. Temperature in the room was difficult to regulate so we froze the first night and were overheated the second night no matter how much we changed the thermostat. Great pool area!

This is our second time staying at the suites. It is pet friendly which is nice. The rooms are clean and having a mini kitchen and full size refrigerator is a plus.

Loved the space in the room. Had a view of the lake

Unique hotel, when i visit new places i want to learn about the history. I don't care for an elaborate or expensive stay, I appreciated the attempt to keep it as original as possible.

When we first checked in we found a few issues with our 1br whirlpool suite. As we walked to our room we smelled cigarette smoke really bad and that was with our masks on. We noticed the extra sheets and pillows had black hair on it. When we decided to go into our whirlpool we noticed a huge chunk of hair. Then when we laid down in bed we noticed a bunch of cobwebs right above the bed. I took pictures and called down to front desk to bring new blankets and a broom to get cobwebs. I had him come in and he removed the cobwebs with the broom and towels. I originally had a two night stay in the room and mentioned I wanted a refund for the next day because we wanted to leave. He offered to upgrade us to the 2br suite at no additional cost I asked to look at room first to make sure was clean before making the decision. The second room was much better and decided to take him up on the offer. People at front desk were great but steps need to be taken to assure cleanliness, especially during CoVid! Don’t think I’ll be staying again!

The Suites Hotel has very large rooms. Our room was 900 sq ft with a kitchen, dining area, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The room was relatively clean, but in dire need of a remodel. It was somewhat run down. The noise was a big factor. The walls are thin and we were kept awake by multiple neighbors until 4am even after complaining to the front desk. The living area had no windows and the bedroom windows had no view. This hotel is maybe a good option if you need a really large room with a kitchen and are on a tightbudget. Otherwise I would recommend selecting a suite from one of the hotels right on Lake Superior when staying in Canal Park in Duluth, MN.

I checked out at 1AM due to people having a loud verbal altercation in the room next to me.

Great as usual, clean and safe. Very polite staff, accommodate my request to check-in earlier.

Great location and nice sized rooms. Parking is across the street but it was a ample and easy to access. Loved that there’s both a brewery (Hoops) and a Grateful Dead themed coffee shop attached to the lobby entrance so we didn’t even have to leave for a night cap beer or morning coffee!! It was also super dog friendly and we had no issues bringing our pup and saw lots of other doggo friends. With COViD there is no continental breakfast and the bags they offered left much to be desired... sugary yogurt, a chocolate muffin and gross fruit cup. Pure sugar so we passed and that would be my main critique of our stay. A bagel or an apple would have been welcomed. Overall excellent and we would for sure stay again.
