We were excited to stay at this boutique hotel. (We like boutique hotels as they always offer a fun experience) Upon entry it looked beautiful and clean. (Although building was hard to determine because it says Karls not Siren. Once we got to our room. It was very small. Way smaller than expected. Think like half a dorm room size. We didn't have hot water. It was luke warm. It took 10 minutes of the shower running to even get that temp! I talked to the receptionist and they told me they would move us rooms. And i said that's okay if they could just send someone up to look at it so we can take showers in the AM. No one came so it was cold showers all weekend. Additionally i got locked in the bathroom because the door was half broken. So by the time my husband was able to get me out. The door didn't open all the way. Hindsight, i should've just accepted the new room when offered because it was one thing right after another. The bed was alright, but the sheets and bedding were really nice. Also they said we were booked through expedian even though we booked through Orbitz. They didn't offer the VIP perk of a free beverage. I had to show the manager the email and he was like i've never heard of this. So that was a disappointment. It was also very crowded with people tying to get into the Candy Bar "Bar" that we had a difficult time checking in. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again when visiting Detroit. Disappointing experience. I don't recommend this place!

The property has a bar and diner inside of it, but consider making reservations because the waitlist was too long for us to enjoy the bar. The room was very small, but definitely adequate. It had a very European feel and was close to everything we wanted.

I would stay here again for the food & walkable amenities. The hotel itself has a rustic and chill vibe.

Gorgeous room, awesome shower

Very clean rooms great scenery and wonderful service

It was in a great location and a nice place to stay. But for the money the rooms were small and should have had a coffee pot and some kind of munchies. The restaurant is closed in the hotel so room service is not an option and restaurants around the area are hard to get into without prior reservations.

There is room for improvement on the heating , our room was cold the entire weekend

Loved the decor and overall feel of the hotel. Also in a great location.

glorious decor!! staff enthusiastic and proud of both the hotel and their city! excellent location!

The property is old however the concept is great. The rooms are tiny and difficult for 2 people to nsvigate. The bed is small and low to the ground. If yoi get a chair in your room its also tiny and low. I moved 2 a secons room for a tiny bit more space. It was and wnd room however it was extremely cold probably because of the large windows. A space heater was provided however it was not enough to accommodate the rooms tall ceilings. The propeety manager Soso and staff Anthony were awesome. They were really trying to correct the issues. Karl's diner staff and food are top notch. I would have toughed the 3 night stay out had they been able to fix the heat issues. Oh and no heat on the elevators.
