The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The grounds are beautiful. So much flora and fauna. The food was good and the variety of food was nice.

Been coming here for several years for dive trips, food and service were great on my first trip in 2018 but have declined each year. Most likely my recent visit will be my last.

Great place beautiful beach and great staff

The property itself was beautiful. Staff was limited and didn’t go over and above in customer service. We scheduled a covid test and no one was there when we went. They had gone home for the day. Staff could not provide change when we asked. Food was mediocre at best.

Staff was friendly . Very poor air conditioning in the hotel rooms and absolutely no air conditioning in any of the the dining areas which made it extremely uncomfortable to try and enjoy any meal day or night.

We have been to this resort before so we knew what to expect for the most part. Lots of walking. We got food poisoning the 2nd night from the restaurant in the royal section. Very little support was offered from anyone at the resort as if it had never happened in the history of the resort. Also very poor wifi in our room. It made it difficult when trying to leave early. Family was able to help from home. The covid test process worked fine except when you have food poisoning and have to walk from one end of the resort to the other throwing up along the way. Upon checking out early they ask why we want to leave. The girl behind the desk was pleasant and said "when others have gotten food poisoning she has called the doctor." We didn't expect a refund because we just wanted to get home. Good thing because nothing was offered. We arrived on Sunday, food poisoning Monday night, sick all day Tuesday, checked out Wednesday. Needless to say we didn't eat there after Monday night. I know others have had great experiences at this resort but not us.

Our electricity went out a total of 9 times while we stayed there. It was out most days for hours at a time, and when the electricity goes out there’s no water. This is not at all pleasing on vacation. The pool bar is only open from 11AM-6PM which was not advertised. Masks are a big deal at this resort and if you forget yours - they won’t provide you one. The food was okay, but nothing special. If we ever return to Cozumel we will NOT stay at the Occidental.

No power or water when we got into our room. Our key card didn’t work either. Power and water was out for the entire facility for a few hours. The wristbands are very flimsy. My boyfriends fell off while just swimming and they charged us $50 for it. Food was edible but not good which we expected for the price. Beach was nice, not many rocks. No swim up bar. Would not return but we still had a great time for the price.

This was my 7th trip to this hotel. Their service was is good as the day that opened. If I was going to give any kind of negative review it would be that they need to have a bartender at the adult pool

The staff just weren’t well Trained. Didn’t have much customer service, they were very slow almost bumbling. Long lines for food, not enough chairs by the pool, not enough shade. I would recommend people to steer clear of this place.

I have been to this property many times. Check in was fast. Food is ok. Tip people that will get you better service. Justino at the pool bar was great! He works very hard!

Staff was amazing

The property is in the jungle and it’s beautiful and private.

If you want to completely relax, this is the place. Everything was wonderful!! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back.
