Very nice resort. Haven't been there for 5 yrs and was pleased to see that everything was still the same. Owner is there and very hands on. Only thing that could be better is the TV channnel choices. Only English Channel is CNN. How about FOX News?

One of the better oceanfront rooms I’ve had. You couldn’t get any closer to the waves. Poor to nonexistent WiFi in room. Very poor toilet situation with sign saying to put TP in trash can rather than flushing. Unacceptable at this price point in this otherwise luxe setting. Food was generally very good but definitely over-priced. Staff was mostly outstanding though service at dinner broke down at times. Gym is a joke with two old, barely functioning Nordic Track machines. Golf course fun but poorly maintained. Outstanding lobby and restaurant locations. Decent pools and bars, wonderful grounds and beach. Ocean only barely swimsble at low tide due to big crashing waves. Lots to see nearby, including waterfall and beautiful protected swimming at Playa Tambor. Hotel -offered tours rarely have enough participants to actually run, and explanations about how to do them (specifically Isla Tortugas snorkeling) on your own are limited at best. Strengths definitely outweigh weaknesses, but st high season prices would become difficult to justify.

I was looking for a quiet place to spend my vacation. I was alone, so I didn't want to be at a loud resort. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We stayed here for our honeymoon 10 yrs ago and went back Mar 2017 for anniversary. It was just as nice now as we remembered. Owner was there and personally stopped to talk to all of the guests. Everything was perfect.

Nice quiet location; pictures on the website match exactly what you get when you arrive. Location is great however takes time to travel outside of the resort. Great staff and Manager is excellent; provided very personable service.

My husband and I visited Tango Mar for our honeymoon and had a great time. The staff was so welcoming and attentive. We stayed in a Tiki suite, which was beautiful and had a view of the hotel's private beach. During our stay we went on a tour that included a guided walk through the jungle and snorkeling at a nearby island. The food at the hotel was amazing and we enjoyed eating there daily. Everything about the trip was wonderful, and we would definitely visit again.

The website and pics don't do this place justice. Beautiful grounds, essentially a huge private beach due to protective cliffs at either end, hammocks, wild-life, golf, excellent meals(large portions), friendly staff, etc... Hilda, the owner, was very pleasant and accommodating and made a point to meet the guests and make sure they were being taken care of. This place is definitely worth the price. Make sure you explore the property as it is quite large. The 9 hole golf course has some challenging holes and is worth playing. You can ride horses on the property and they can help you organize dozens of local tours and activities. You won't be disappointed unless you are looking for a place in the center of town.

This place is perfect all around. Amazing location. great pools, beach, and restaurant. Hilde the owner manager has great standards. Exceeded expectations. out family of four with two boys 8 and 10 had a blast.

Pros: nice & helpful staff. Beautiful location right on the beach. Three very nice pools. Beach front room is indeed right on the beach with strong surf sounds. The hotel will take care of all your needs. Cons: A/C is awfully located in your balcony which means you cannot enjoy sitting there and enjoy the ocean because the A/C is blowing hot air at you, Really badly thought-out... And the A/C engine, although new, is very loud inside the room which kinda ruins the surf relaxing sounds. Breakfast was not fresh, breads and pastries probably from days before... Dinner is over- priced. Tip: Although located on the beach, the ocean is fierce and it is too dangerous to go in the water even in low tide. Good for resort vacationers only... Not the real costa rica...

My husband and I just returned fom our 2ed trip to Tango Mar in the past 8 months!! We both found this resort to our most favorite place to be!!! The resort is beautiful ...the views are amazing ,and the food is amazing, but the staff at this resort is truly amazing!!! There s not 1 thing I can say that i can say negative!! We are already trying to plane our next trip to Tango Mar...We feel like this is out 2ed home!!!!

My husband and I spent a week at Tango Mar mid-June, and were very pleased. We would definitely return to Tango Mar again in the future. We stayed in a Tropical Suite, and enjoyed the view from the hillside, one should be prepared to walk and climb stairs if you were going to stay in a Tropical Suite. We are both fairly fit and enjoyed the daily walk, but this could be an issue for some. The grounds were breathtaking, and the staff was top notch. I do not believe the owner was on site at all during our trip, but the staff was so professional and put guest needs above all else so this wasn't an issue. The remoteness of the location was perfect for our travel plans, but one should be aware that if you plan on leaving the resort you will need to rent a car or arrange taxi. There really isn't anything nearby for a few miles, (i.e. market, shops). The staff was very happy to arrange a daily rental car for us and gave us solid directions to venture off site. We did one tour through the resort and the description provided for the tour was very accurate. We found the food to be a good value for the quality, we actually preferred the lunch menu to the dinner menu as there was a bit more variety there as well as some lighter options, particularly for vegetarian. We had read a lot of reviews prior to our trip and we did see a small handful of negative ones, but our experience didn't lend any truth to any of the ones that we read.
