There was renovation going on at the hotel but the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size. Good location with shops nearby. Free shuttle to airport. Good Buffett style breakfast every day.

Atmosphere was so nice. People were great. Loved the pool.

stained floors, drains clogged, uncomfortable beds and pillows, extremely worn bathroom etc

The staff was remarkably friendly. The hotel itself was conveniently located near UVA, while still offering a reasonable rate for a night's stay. The breakfast was great. Overall, a place I'd plan to revisit upon future stops in Charlottesville.

I liked the setting within the city. Easy access to stores restaurants and interstates. There was remodeling going on but did not interfere with any activities. A special thank you to the front desk staff and especially Myra who I found open, informed, helpful, and a joy to speak to.

I have been staying at the English Inn for many years. It has a terrific location and is very quiet. Sadly, the property is looking tired. The common spaces are a bit rundown. Despite a series of room renovations, the room is still in need of attention. Housekeeping was uneven (e.g., changed towels but did not make the bed). Although I will continue there, the conditions need to change.

We liked the English decor, size of room, comfortable bed, great pillows, a very good breakfast, friendly staff, clean, and easy accessible to highway.

It was very quaint.

I always like staying here when I come to Charlottesville...

ALL the staff, from top management to the kitchen and cleaning crew, are very cordial and helpful... I always enjoy staying here...

Customer service was excellent. hotel is a older place, but thats one thing that makes it unique. for being older, it was well kept with typical wear and tear in areas. breakfast was good, typical hotel food(eggs, sausage, etc) however it was hot and fresh and was really good. also, the fact they have made breakfast work through COVID, is also a plus being other places just gave up on that aspect. They also allow pets, which was a big plus being our dog just had surgery last minute and we couldnt board him. definatly will stay again.

The hotel was very clean and the common area near the lobby was very inviting and nice. The staff was unfriendly and not attentive when we needed something. The man at the front desk the morning we checked out was extremely rude. As I was putting the keys on the desk he shouted, "just hand them to me"! The hotel was clean and nice, the staff not so much. We will not stay there again.

It is an old hotel. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and poor quality. The pillows were also very poor. There were stains on the washed towels. The room phone was not even attached to a line or power outlet. It was just an accessory. We called the front desk from our cell phones. Over all, the hotel needs to update itself and renovate its rooms. I couldn’t sleep for two night as the beds and pillows were so uncomfortable and did not meet Average hotel standards. I forgot my PJs in the bathroom and I called the hotel next day, and was told that housekeeping did not bring anything down to front desk and that they would call me if they find my PJs. I literally told them my room number and where I exactly left them hanging on the hook of the bathroom door. There is no explanation that the housekeeping could not find them (yet). It was the worst hotel I stayed and it was not even cheap. Total disappointment!

Very clean, room had a fresh clean smell when you entered. House Keeper is excellent.
