Smoke smell in halls and couple rooms. Staff not as attentive or know about local amenities or travel info. Fine for the price.

door broken, pool freezing, not well maintained and even roped off for no reasonn should of been heated. at breakfast area the air conditioner was leading from the ceiling onto the sheet rock that it looked like it was going to fall through... they left it like this for several days. Bottom line" no-care attitude

We changed rooms 3 times, the ac’s were broken down and loud, the beds were uncomfortable, the hot water in the sink never got hot, there was no TV guide, the carpet in one room was nasty and sticky, and one had not been vacuumed because there was drywall dust that you could see because of a fresh paint job that covered a leaky wall. The staff was nice and tried to be accommodating but the hotel itself was awful. The exterior looked worn down and there was weather and rot on the exterior doors on the sides of the building; it looked rough.

The hotel was easily visible so drove by the entrance. Checked in at night- 5pm. Wasn’t made aware had to pay for parking until check out asked it wanted receipt. Charged 30.00 for parking in deck then 20.00 for 2 days at the hotel. Refrig was dirty- inside and out. (As well as the cabinets). The balacony was not able to be opened. No trash can in bathroom and I went to desk to get towels and toilet paper. When I asked for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner- due to them being empty. She stated they don’t fill those any longer and said could have bar of soap. Yet when housekeeping left their cart in front of the elevators- the full bottles were on the cart. It was convenient to have a grocery next door to buy what I needed since the hotel obviously was not supplying it. The next morning at breakfast I went to make my daughter hot chocolate and the hot water was out. I said excuse me to the lady that was filling silverware once she had a min the hot water was out, can she fill the hot water for hot chocolate. She informed me when I get over there. She continued to talk and then walked away. I waited for another 5 mins and walked away. It was ridiculous of how rude the staff were and how we were treated. Considering the types of experience cars that were in the parking lot, I can’t imagine they were treated the same way. We were there for a visit to The Citadel and would not recommend staying there. Chose the hotel based on it being a Holiday Inn and was not a cheap motel- mistake

ROOM IS VERY DIRTY!

A lot of recent reviews made me worried about our choice of hotels. However... the staff was “present”, efficient and helpful. The room was spotless and very clean. The “public spaces” were clean and well-kept. I highly recommend this hotel. It was 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and two minutes from the Citadel. Our only “downside” was that parking at the hotel was limited- however the parking garage right next door was easily accessed and the hotel “comped” your ticket, so what’s there to really complain about?

Can't sign into WiFi on Phone. No one knows how.

small space made comfortable, could use more staff

This hotel is a great location if you have to go to any of the hotels downtown. Parking sucks just FYI.

Property is decent enough- quality is what I expect for a holiday inn. It was not what I expect for a hotel that is so expensive per night! Over $300/night for very little. Walking distance to downtown if you put on the good walking shoes!

The room was very clean and smelled fresh. One of the nicest rooms I have had in a long time.

Property was satisfactory. I am very unhappy about not getting points for my travel club for this stay. Am not going to stay with Holiday Inn Express again, because of this policy

This was located close to all of the things we wanted to do. It was priced well and convenient.

It’s a nice hotel, staff is friendly but don’t go out of their way to be friendly. I was not informed about anything, such as breakfast, or that the pool was closed. Which I felt like I should have been notified ahead of time. My mattress also had a big dip in it, and the balcony is locked permanently. Which I was kind of disappointed because I picked that hotel because it said it had a balcony. Also the first day I was there we got locked out, and I was told it was because they had given my room to someone else too. So someone went in our room with our stuff in there and the staff didn’t even realize until this individual went and told them. They had to issue us new room keys.

They charged me for smoking when we don’t even smoke. Never accused me of it nor told me they were charging. Just got home and realized we had a charge on our card.

Room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked, comforter was really stained to the point that I didn’t want it touching me. Water bottle on porch full of cigarette butts. Property could use an overhaul, very outdated.
