Very clean , staff is wonderful ,they go above and beyond to make your stay the best, food was fantastic, our third time staying here. Looking forward to our 4th time.

Property was great but there was a lack of beach access. It’s right on the ocean which makes for a beautiful view but there is too much seaweed and rocks to get in. Also, did not like that there is no food by the pools. You need to get out and dry up to get food inside a restaurant and sit down to eat it. My biggest complaint was that there coffee shops serves great coffee but with no lids. I wanted to get coffee for me and my husband in the morning but was fearful of spilling it on the way to the room. The service was fantastic. Everything was clean. The food was delicious and lots of variety.

This is my second time visiting this resort and it’s even better than my last trip in 2019! Great food, drinks, nice rooms, everything! I left my room at the moon palace early and stayed here. Well worth the money!

Service and food is the best. Plenty of choices, lots of pool and beach chairs. Will use el cid again for vacation. Only 2 restaurants open a night still. Buffett isn’t a buffet its more of a cooked to order food court with endless items. Drinks are amazing and they have dos xx lager and amber on draft . The platinum service is a great upgrade well worth the extra.

Positives - Large pools were nice. Noe (staff) at cliff pool is amazing. Sara Niembro (Chief Concierge) should be in charge of the whole place. Negatives - Silvia Santiago (Front desk manager) could use some additional customer service training. Service at pools was hit or miss. Waited a long time for a drinks & by the time they got back the ice was always melted. It was better to get your own drinks. No free wifi anywhere within the resort. $15/day/device or $60 for the week/device they will get you set up. Ridiculous. The pictures of the 1 bedroom suite on orbitz is not what you get for a 1 bedroom suite. There is no kitchen/bar or 2 sofas like they represent. We had 2 rooms booked. Resort (Edgar Perez) reached out a week prior to arriving. I requested that both rooms at least be in the same building if not side by side. Concierge said he would accommodate. That was not the case upon check-in. Neighbors of 1 of our rooms was smoking excessively. The smoke was coming under the door that connected the rooms. We notified security as it was at 10:00 p.m. No one did anything. We then went to the front desk to see what could be done as entire room smelled of smoke even with a towel at the bottom of the door. We ended up moving rooms at 11 p.m. Not fun. Realize they have a lot of new staff but they need a lot of training in the customer service area. Best to go in with low expectations & you might come out with a smile.

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful service. This was the second time we stayed here. We brought our three kids ages 9 to 15 and they loved it and we all want to go back. We had Platinum service since we are platinum members through Orbitz. The only downside to this hotel is that the location on the ocean is very rocky. We love to swim in the ocean but unless you have water shoes and a lot of patience, it's not very good for swimming. We will stay here again.

The resort and staff were excellent. The rooms are very clean and cleaning service spot on. The food is not good at all, in fact my husband and I got really sick from the food and we know it’s from the resort since we only stayed one night since it was closer to the airport than Tulum. My husband and I had a horrible trip back home since we spent most of the time in the bathroom. After eating authentic food in tulum we got food poisoning from this extravagant resort. Lesson learned stick to the cute boutique hotels minus the all inclusive and you should be ok. Plus the misquotes ate us alive, I've never experienced such discomfort and pain from mosquitoes. Won’t be going back For sure. It is nice but if the food sucks and your dinner for the mosquitoes, I will pass.

Great service! Beautiful resort and delicious food.

The place was great, the room was clean and the food was excellent. We had a butler named Jesus M. He was super attentive and did an amazing job. We would absolutely recommend the place. The beach was covered in seaweed the whole week but I was told it was a seasonal thing.

Paid a nominal upgrade fee to a much better room, both were ocean front. Did have some maintenance items but mostly related to a new room/building. I have stayed at El Cid before and find they have improved their game in the food and booze offerings.

Let me clear up some confusion-the Ventura is a new bigger better addition to the Marina which is disgusting and below standard-thing is they share the same property as well as restaurants-which sums up why at 9am men are rip roaring drunk. If you love cruise ships you will love this place. If a cruise ship is your worst nightmare-DO NOT come here!!!!! As a family is was cheap and cheerful and the weather was perfect!!! Customer service is non existent-so don’t bring your expectations on holiday. Food is good but limited to the new market-the rest reminds you why going to all inclusive can be horribly overdone

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Is what I can say about this amazing resort! This place is a cut above what you're used to in an all-inclusive property. The food and drink are spot on, the service and facility are spot on. The check-in went as smooth as you could want, just don't agree to the presentation! The buffet is not traditional, it is more like an upscale food court, the choices are the best I've had at an all-inclusive.

It is a shame to realize that this past stay at our resort has been unpleasant, nonetheless, we certainly understand your disappointment in regards to the ocean conditions. We would like to share with you that unfortunately, Our beach area as well Puerto Morelos and the rest of the Riviera Maya are crossing to a strong wave of seaweed which prevents our guests to enjoy this and the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean, nevertheless, our staff works day by day in order to keep our beach area in the best conditions for our guest. We also understand your concern in regard to the mosquitos in the area, we work hard to avoid this situation reinforcing our fumigation program during this season in all our areas to the entire complex, as well, as part our the resort amenities it is included mosquito repellent complete the kit in all room units to your safety, this, with the aim to offer alternatives for our guests to fully enjoy their stay. We are very sorry for the disturbances that these has caused you and your family during your stay with us.
