As a 64-year-old experienced traveler, I have stayed at almost 1,000 American hotels and motels over the years. The counterpeople at Lamplighter Inn in Longmont, Ohio rate among the worst I have experienced. I dealt with three different people during my four-night stay. All were brutally unfriendly and unhelpful. Based upon this fact alone, I would never, ever recommend that anyone stay at this property. Like many lodgings in Colorado, Lamplighter has no elevator. The stairs and hallway leading to my second-floor (top level) room were stifling. The commode needed to be flushed at least twice to obtain results. The air conditioner worked, but was noisy. There was no light bulb in one of the few lamps. The property contains forty units. There are only thirty parking spaces on site. Fortunately, there never were more than twenty vehicles in the lot. On the brighter side, the parking lot had only one piece of trash in it. The cinder block walls deadened all sound except the noise coming through the flimsy room door. Because the Lamplighter was not crowded, it was relatively quiet. The fact that the Lamplighter was not crowded in late July of 2017, when seeming all other lodgings in Loveland and Longmont were full to capacity speaks the truth. This place is in a no-fly zone.
