Hotel staff, especially Tony and Tim are absolutely fantastic! The Hotel Salem is in prime location for those people visiting and wanting to experience all the attractions in Salem. We rented the king suite for the four nights we were there. The room was ultramodern, immaculately clean and they made good use of a very small space. I didn’t love the layout because after a long day of wondering Salem to go back to the hotel and relax with all four people in your party, the quarters were very cramped. Other than that, it was a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.

I wish that they would have told us about the restricted street that the hotel was located on. Also, parking which is normally free at motels was excessive in the parking structure. It would have been nice to have a discount rate.

The hotel has a unique and cool style, large rooms. The hotel smells bad, especially the elevators, they smell like sweat or were vacuumed with a dirty vacuum that made the carpet stink. The room was not painted the best, paint was not even or wall color was on ceiling or metal windows. Sink was cracked.

The Hotel Salem is truly unique, with very modern decor and a perfect location. Although there is no onsite parking, the inexpensive price of the hotel makes up for paying for it. There are so many excellent stores and restaurants surrounding the hotel, and the Peobody Essex Museum is practically next door. We didn’t manage to get to the rooftop bar, but it looked like it would be quite the view. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it!

A clean, spacious room; super friendly and courteous staff; perfect location in the heart of Salem’s visitors district. I was delighted with my choice and plan a return visit.

Hotel is in the center of everything, I would recommend it.

Hotel Salem was so lovely and the perfect destination for our girls weekend. The room was so cool and the decor was not not stuffy like other hotels-- definitely the perfect vibe for young 20/30 somethings though I'm sure families would be happy there as well. The rain shower was amazing and the beds so comfy, we're hoping to come back in the spring so we can check out the roof but we hear it's also amazing! Would definitely recommend!

I love the decor, beds were comfy, right in the hearr of Salem. We will stay again!

My room had no desk or chair and was very small -pay garage is two blocks away over brick sidewalks. Lighting for the bathroom was terrible. Location is great for tourists - lots of restaurants, shops. Friendly staff.

The AC didn't work (the hotel was having issues) and our room was 80 degrees. You can't open the windows, and while they did provide us with a fan, it was still way too hot. When we checked in, they just said they were having some issues, and that it would be fixed. They did not state it was not working at all in the rooms. When I asked about a discount when we checked out, they were not friendly and said they told us about it when we checked in. And that was it. The general manager was supposed to call me, but he did not. I waited to write this review to see if they would call me, but they didn't. I gave them the ability to make it right somehow but they chose not to. For a "boutique" hotel, things should work. We stay there every year, and we will not be back. Especially with a new hotel being built within close proximity.

This hotel is gorgeous! Right in the heart of downtown Salem you just can't get anything more convenient.

Great hotel and staff. Can be a bit noisy with the bar on the first floor
