With warm weather throughout the year and a number of outdoor places both along beaches and in parks, Biloxi is a great place to visit with your furry friend. While there are some restrictions due to native creature habitat protections, you will still find plenty of places that are pet friendly.

What to do with pets in Biloxi (MS)

First, you will definitely want to rent a car to get around Biloxi. It is not a very walkable area nor is there much in the way of public transportation. While your leashed pet is more than welcome on many beach areas along the Mississippi’s coastline, you should double check on the National Parks website to make sure you know where exactly your pup is allowed and where he is not. Nearby Ocean Springs Beach is a great place to start.

If you want to let your dog roam freely, head to Biloxi Dog Park, Popp’s Ferry Dog Park, or Pixie’s Memorial Dog Park. You can also check out the fairly new River Dog’s Park in Pascagoula. For something a bit more unique, visit the Biloxi Shrimping Tour. Since the city is so close to the Gulf, seafood is a huge part of its Southern cuisine. The tour company is incredibly accommodating to pets and you will get to see what kind of food you can catch.

Once you have worked up an appetite, head to any one of the pet-friendly eateries in town. Most offer outdoor seating where your pet can hang out while you eat. Shaggy’s Biloxi Beach right on Biloxi Beach has beautiful views of the Sound and offers delicious seafood. Be sure to try its frozen daiquiris. Fuji Sushi House has a specific fenced-in area for dogs. Here, try the gumbo or any of the desserts at Le Café Beignet. Next, Mary Mahoney’s is one of Biloxi’s most famous fine dining restaurants and offers beautiful courtyard seating. Call ahead so they are aware.
