Affordable and clean. Large rooms

S

The night that I checked in I was helped by a very kind gentleman who assured me that he would stay to make sure that we were able to check in if I was a little late. Check in closed at 10. The rooms were spacious and the beds seemed clean but the family room that I stayed in had a filthy sofa. I could not imagine even sitting on it. The carpet had clumps of white on brown carpet and I could not even imagine what it was. It was very dated with burn holes all over the bathroom floor. We had just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in the previous town that was very nice and considerably cheaper. The next day when my granddaughters went to check out the pool we were followed into the pool area by the person working behind the front desk. He rudely told me that we hadn’t signed in. I answered ,What? I checked in last night. He informed us that in order to use the pool we had to sign in and that I had failed to read the sign on the door that was among 5 other signs. I have never heard of a hotel requirement that you’d have to sign in first before using a pool. The man was very rude. Complete opposite of the accommodating man the first evening.

Rum was ok. No issues. Bathroom could use updating as the ceiling had a few issues

No coffee maker in the room. I went to the lobby to get a cup of coffee and there wasn’t any available. What hotel doesn’t even have a continental breakfast? The sink stopper would not go up to drain the sink. I had to pry it out. I forgot my razor and the hotel didn’t even have any to purchase from their vending machines. I feel the hotel was overpriced. I would recommend spending a little more money to stay somewhere else.

It’s a old property - more like a motel quality but prices are much higher.

The room needed a thorough cleaning. When we arrived, I took a towel & cleaned off all the dirt & grime that had built up on the room air conditioner that was right next to the bed
