I called the hotel when we arrived and asked where to park due to a farmers market. The front desk clerk (1 month new) gave directions where to park and said to come in and there should be a room ready. It was 3 o’clock and I understood check in was at 4. Came in and he said there weren’t any rooms and we waited in the lobby watching another couple check in. The clerk left and a different one started their shift. I asked him about a room and he said nothing was available. My partner went to the bathroom downstairs and passed a cleaning person sitting watching tv. I approached the front desk again and he asked how can I help you like it was the first time he was seeing me. I told him “I just talked to you about 5 minutes ago”. He apologized saying with masks he doesn’t recognize people. He then asked on the walk-in talkie if a room was available and the cleaning person said the room had been ready for a long time. We checked in and he never apologized even though we waited for an hour for a room that was already ready. When we checked out in the morning the first desk clerk ( who was new) was working. I dropped off the room cards and he looked at me and never said anything, not even a thank you for staying there. For $300 a night I would expect better service.

Nice stay! Easy walk to all of what Astoria has to offer. Quaint place!!

Great place. Keep in mind that you have to park a block away. They do have a loading zone so you can unload your suitcases before parking. Staff were excellent showing me were to park. The view from the top of the building is just wonderful. Breakfast is probably good but there is a great restaurant a block away called the Coffee House Bistro that serves a ton of spectacular breakfast dishes and also cocktails and a diverse collection of coffee drinks. Sunday market was excellent which is held right there. Air conditioner thing the staff put in the room was a bit noisy and I suspect would make some people unhappy. Luckily very few days a year does Astoria need air conditioning. Another great restaurant a block or two away is Drina Daisy which is eastern European. Definitely can recommend staying here.

Good downtown location. Good breakfast & staff. Farmers market outside was nice.

Excellent staff, nicely decorated period hotel, very comfortable bed, very clean, perfect downtown location. Highly recommend

Wonderful old, nicely updated hotel, centrally located in beautiful Astoria, Oregon. The staff were lovely, the rooms quiet, and the view from the rooftop terrace excellent.

My wife and I have been staying at Hotel Elliot for over 11 years, at least 6-8 times a year. The location is perfect, awesome food within walking distance in any direction, and Hotel staff is quick to help you with any requests you may have. We have traveled the world, and we always tell our friends about this Hotel, and that they must stay there, especially during the Art Walk each month. Very unique hotel, gorgeous lobby, heated floors, and awesome views of the city and the Columbia river. It is a must stay destination!

We had a good stay overall and liked the town of Astoria a lot. But Hotel Elliot is a disappointment. Our favorite hotel smells amazing the minute you walk in the door. Hotel Elliot's lobby smells like, well, burnt grandma butt. No parking for the hotel either. If you like to sleep in you'll be risking a ticket. The room was ok. Just not a thrill. No bathtub! No minibar. Housekeeping should pay attention to the details, like door handles. If the bathroom door handle is slightly sticky....well, ew! One towel per person? Stingy. We showered before dinner (after a long muddy fun hike) and in the morning showered again to start the day and had to use our still wet towels after. Not a big deal but just not a top notch hotel stay. We could see it was once a great hotel. We could see it truly could be one again. It just isn't right now.

This hotel has been nicely refurbished. Staff offered good suggestions for things to do and see in the area. Local restaurants and wine bar exceeded expectations for a town of Astoria's size. The hotel's rooftop deck is a great place to watch the sunset and meet other guests. Would definitely stay here again.
