Loved this hotel! It was cool having a suite for the price of a regular hotel room. Location was ideal! I was very happy with everything. Having a full kitchen was awesome too!

I had a great 2 night stay at this hotel. It is on a quiet street just on a hill above the railway station, so yes you will hear train horns but is otherwise in a quiet and peaceful area. I did feel safe. It is surprisingly close to the downtown area, it was only a 4 minute walk before I was at the log cabin visitor center. The room was huge, with a separated bedroom and living room area. It had a full kitchen with full sized fridge, a stovetop and sink. There was a TV in both the bedroom and living room. Everything was very clean. I had a corner room so it was very bright and open. I could see the train station from my window. I had a 0645 train ride with a 0545 check in time and the walk was literally 1-2 minutes down the hill, so I wasn't so frantic rushing there with all my bags. I was able to check in a few hours early since the room was ready. Gentleman at the front desk was polite. Check out was fairly simple, they seem too short staffed at the moment to accomodate a 24 hr desk person which is understandable. I will say that I stayed 2 nights here then another 2 nights at Captain Cook Hotel, which is their huge luxury hotel in Anchorage. Compared to that hotel I much preferred this smaller and quieter hotel with a much more prime location I felt. I think much more attention was paid to cleanliness in this smaller hotel as well. The prices for these two were similar so just a heads up if you want something a little more low key but not far from the center.

Absolutely the closest hotel to the Alaska RR station. Super convenient!

Nice property. Clean room and nice small kitchen. Convenient location for the train depot, coastal trail and 49th State Brewing.

The Anchorage Grand Hotel is situated next to the train station, which was practical since we were heading to Denali National Park early the second morning we were in Anchorage. The room we stayed in was a suite with a kitchen containing a refrigerator and stove. Downtown Anchorage is fairly small and completely walkable if you stay at the Anchorage Grand Hotel.

clean although aged and showing it. there is an elevator but you must be able to carry it up and down some amount of stairs. this was the first hotel i had to set up my own sofa bed. there is a full kitchen which was great and 24 hour desk. the windows wouldnt close because it was broken and a loud train ran by every couple of hours.

A pleasant and convenient place to stay. Close to the train, downtown, and the bike paths.

Clean room, walking distance to restaurants, shops

Quiet, spacious rooms that are very reasonably priced

didn't like the stairs in the entry and the room was hot until later in the evening when we opened the windows. no soap or shampoo was provided. everything else was great. close parking was great.

Convenient to the train station, downtown, and Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Run down/no AC and noise from the trains (understandable given the location). I had booked a king room; the hotel put us in a uqeen room (no king rooms available). The manager was rude and blamed Orbitz. Orbitz was great about refunding the difference.

The 2 star for room spacious otherwise everything was so smelly. Hallway had a smell that I had to close my nose to cross. One of the person on desk was annoying. Parking was free. I wouldn’t stay here again sorry may be a for someone else smell is not bad so it could be ok.

We needed a convenient hotel that would work with a late arrival from the Alaskan Railroad. The hotel is a quick walk up a hill or steps from the station. This hotel fit the bill for us. They provide a very basic breakfast delivered to your door. They also have a washer and dryer available for guests on the first floor. Great bed. Warning..not too friendly for wheelchairs and strollers (unless there's a secret back entrance). When coming in from the front, you have to take a handful of steps to get to the lobby or elevator.

Charm of an old hotel with smaller rooms and hard mattress. But no air conditioning meant open windows (one mechanism was broken). The room faced thr Alaska Railway station, and train whistles were heard through the night.

Very nice, friendly hosts.
